The Hotel Rural Cortijo La Alberca lies in the middle of its own 7,000 m² estate, filled with bubbling fountains, water channels and fruit trees all relics of the regions Moorish past. The buildings themselves date back over 250 years, and have been renovated to retain many of their charming original features while adding all modern comforts.

The propertys centrepiece the alberca or pool allows you to take a refreshing dip in the summer months and acts as a pleasant backdrop to your breakfast service or days sunbathing on the terrace.

All around the property you can take in the breathtaking natural scenery, which includes mountains and a stunning ravine leading down to the nearby town of Huebro.

Hotel Rural Cortijo La Alberca also has a bar, where you can enjoy a sociable drink before heading to one of the on-site restaurants for a bite to eat - including the Magreb, and Comedor del Califa.

The lovingly converted farmhouse, along with its storeroom, dovecote, drying shed and straw loft, make up this charming, small hotel. The result is an architectural blend inspired by the style of Al-Andalus.

The main house - the oldest part of the property - has a dining room and lounge where you can take breakfast in the winter months. Here, you can meet and enjoy a drink by the fireside.

By car: After the junction in front of the town hall in Níjar, follow signs for Huebro. The turn-off for the hotel is one kilometre further along this road - the entrance is marked by a sign for the Hotel Rural on the left-hand side. After the gate, continue until the sign for Cortijo La Alberca.
