Peacefully situated in a small agricultural valley, near the river Douro through which a famous railway line passes, this charming manor house is an oasis of tranquillity.

Once the centre of a vast ancient property, the grounds now stretch for 60 hectares, maintained by the family. The picturesque surroundings are made up of vineyards and old orange orchards, surrounded by woods and forests. Here you can escape the hectic city life and enjoy hours of undisturbed walking and cycling.

Three rooms are located in the main house and an apartment with up to 4 rooms is situated in an annexed building offering more privacy. Each of the rooms has been furnished with your comfort in mind, creating a warm and inviting place to retreat to. Visit our old water mill for a drink and a game in the bar and enjoy the exhibition/sale of handicrafts in the former winery.

Cochêca is an old manor house, originally leased by Salzedas convent in 1567. The Italian architect Nazoni influenced its current Baroque appearance, and it maintains an elegant main entrance bearing a huge, impressive coat of arms. Within the manor house is a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Piety, dating back to the end of the 17th century or earlier.
Our cosy sitting room for guests has a satellite TV, video and DVD player, mini-bar and games-table.

Handicrafts:
The old winery, on the ground floor of the main house, has been recently put to use to display and sell works by local artists and artisans. An additional display of original and quality items make this worth a visit.

Traditional dinners are served in the main house (soup, a meat or fish dish, dessert, fruit, tea or coffee and regional wine are included); these must be pre-booked. Vegetarian meals may be provided. Our bar also provides a poolside service and personalised events can be organised for up to 40 people.
