We are uniquely nestled within a bush clad reserve - The Bluff - on one side, with Paihia's Wharf and Central Township - Williams Road - just a short stroll along the waterfront on the other. All 7 of these one-bedroom apartments have panoramic ocean views across the bay and sleep either 2 or 3 people. Apartments have a queen-size bed in the bedroom, as well as a single bed in the lounge (twin beds or bedding for 3 people).

Family Apartment (Sea View)

These units are not directly along the waterfront. However, they are positioned so that they also have lovely sea views of the Bay. These are our largest units sleeping up to 5 people. There is a queen-size and a single bed in the bedroom, as well as 2 single beds in the lounge.

Family Apartment (No View)

These units are located along the rear of our property and as such, do not have a view of the water. We have a studio motel unit, which has a queen-size bed located in the lounge / dining area. There are also 3 one-bedroom family motel units, which sleep up to 4 people with a queen-size bed in the bedroom and 2 single beds in the lounge.

We supply tea and coffee, but no catering services on-site. There are numerous restaurants and cafes / bars, all within a minute or 2 walk along the sea front. Catering for every taste, you will be spoilt for choice.

Abel Tasman Lodge, Paihia (Bay Of Islands) - Area Information

A short 1-2 minute stroll from here along Paihia's picturesque waterfront will take you to Paihia's main wharf where all of the Bay of Islands fishing charters and Island cruises depart from daily. This is also where you will find Paihia's central township (Williams Rd) where you can meander through the many craft and souvenir shops, and then take a leisurely break at one of the local cafes or restaurants. Paihia offers a full range of supporting services, including banks, medical and dental facilities.

You can relax and swim at the beach across the road from the Lodge while you keep an eye out for the dolphins that are sometimes seen offshore playing in the Bay. For a change of scene, you can take a leisurely 1-2 minute stroll around The Bluff to the left and you will discover that there is another wonderful large beach for you to enjoy. If you have children, there is a large children's playground located on the grassed beach reserve. This beach is also ideal for swimming and relaxing while you enjoy the scenic beauty of the Bay of Islands. For the more active and adventurous, at this location during the summer months, you can usually hire a Jet Ski or a Kayak so that you can get out on the water and enjoy!
