The Ryedale guest house makes a great base for your visit to the Isle of Wight. Shanklin railway station is just 2 minutes' walk away. The beach and the town centre are also just a short stroll from the guest house.

Every room has been tastefully redecorated to a high standard. Each of the single, twin, double and family rooms is en suite. All rooms have TVs, hairdryers, radio alarm clocks and tea/coffee making facilities.

An impressive breakfast is included in the price and is available from 08:30 to 09:00, every day. Guests are given a pre-order breakfast menu, so that they can choose the required cooked items in advance. Guests can then change their choices on a daily basis. Cooked items include free-range fried, poached or scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, oven-baked tomatoes and mushrooms. Baked beans on toast; tomatoes on toast; scrambled or poached eggs on toast; and boiled eggs are also available as alternatives. Whatever you have planned, the generous and tasty full cooked English breakfast is a great way to start your day. Cereals, toast, marmalade, jams and honey are also included, along with a choice of orange or apple juice and tea, coffee or hot chocolate. There is a fine selection of restaurants and takeaways in Shanklin. In the evenings, guests are welcome to bring takeaway food back to the hotel and to eat it in the dining room. There is a fridge for guests to use in the dining room.

By Train: The Ryedale guest house is about 100 metres from Shanklin railway station. You can buy rail tickets to Shanklin from the mainland. The price includes a ticket for the passenger ferry from Southsea to Ryde on the Isle of Wight. By Car (from the ferry port at Fishbourne): - From the Fishbourne ferry, take the A3054 to Ryde. - Go right through Ryde, following the signs for the A3055, Sandown and Shanklin. - Keep on the A3055, through Sandown and Lake. - Having passed though Lake, go on into Shanklin and turn right at the first set of traffic lights. - This will take you into Atherley Road. The Ryedale is at the far end, on the left-hand side.
