Hotel Terravina is owned and managed by Nina and Gerard Basset; co- founders of the original award-winning Hotel du Vin group. An intimate and contemporary residence, the hotel provides 11 individually decorated rooms and an 'open kitchen' for social dining, serving the best local produce accompanied by a choice of fine wines.

A relaxing retreat in the New Forest, during your stay you can enjoy visits to the nearby coast or the stunning countryside villages, such as Lyndhurst, Lymington, Brockenhurst, Buckler's Hard and Beaulieu.

The owners, Gerard and Nina, hold a great deal of experience to ensure a pleasant experience. Gerard is a well-recognised wine specialist. He holds Master Sommelier, Master of Wine and Wine MBA awards. In 1992, he won the Best International Sommelier for French Wines (Paris), in 1996 he won the Best Sommelier of Europe (Reims) and in the World Sommelier Championship he has finished twice 2nd in 1992 (Rio de Janeiro) and in 2004 (Athens) as well as second equal in 2007 (Rhodes). He is also a Chevalier Sabrage; an expert in sabrage, the art of opening a bottle of Champagne using a sabre.

Nina became the youngest AA Hotel Inspector at the age of 21, but left to help set up the first Hotel du Vin in 1994 in Winchester. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality.

The hotel uses local, organically-grown lavender for the hand-made toiletries as well as eco-friendly housekeeping products.

By Car: - Take the M27 (West). - Exit at junction 2. - Turn onto the Fawley Link Road, A326. - Pass the superstore roundabout. - At the next roundabout, take the third exit, A336, signed to Netley Marsh. - After a few hundred yards, turn left at the White Horse Pub into Woodlands Road. - The hotel is just over one mile further along on the left-hand side. By Train: Ashurst station is 5 minutes away. The staff will be happy to arrange a taxi transfer on your behalf (please pay the taxi company direct). By Air: Southampton airport is just 8 miles away and Bournemouth airport is also nearby. The hotel can arrange your collection on request.
