Set within its own picturesque grounds, this former coaching inn, dating back in parts to 1430, provides traditional accommodation and a luxurious spa in the historic Sussex market town of Midhurst.

Having been fully refurnished to provide all the comforts of a luxurious modern hotel, the Spread Eagle Hotel still retains many of its original features, including sloping floors, inglenook fireplaces and oak beams. The restaurant also features a beautiful stained glass window.

In contrast to the historic aspects of the hotel, the Spread Eagle offers a modern spa, complete with an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and gym. Alternatively you can indulge with a personalised beauty treatment.

When you are not exploring the surroundings, or relaxing in the spa, you can unwind in the comfortable leather chairs of the 15th-century lounge, with its ancient oak beams and leaded-light windows. In the winter months the open fire is lit.

An idyllic choice for your business events and special occasions, the hotel provides 3 beautiful multi-function rooms to suit your needs. The intimate King Edward VII Room with its beamed walls and ceiling is in the oldest part of the hotel and accommodates up to 30 guests; the Polo Room with its high vaulted ceiling is suitable for up to 80 people; and the magnificent Jacobean Hall with its natural stone walls, heraldic banners and minstrel's galley can accommodate up to 120.
