An Anglo-Swiss family runs the Albergo Hotel Tesserete built in 1910 and full of old-world charm. It boasts a large green garden and is only 15 minutes away from Lugano.

The Tesserete bus stop is right across the Albergo Hotel Tesserete, which is specially suitable for hikers and bikers.

In the village of Tesserete there are 3 restaurants serving various specialities.

Tesserete is the starting point for many walks and mountainbike tours in shady chestnut woods and unspoilt countryside. 2003 the Mountain Bike World Championship was held on the nearby Tamaro mountain.

A public swimming pool is only a few minutes' walk from the hotel and is open from May to September.

Recently a new open-air sport center was opened in Tesserete for athletics, football, tennis and more. In Origlio 4 km from Tesserete there are 2 stables.

There is a bus line running every 40 minutes from 06:00 to 19:30 between Tesserete and Lugano train station or the city. The last bus leaves Lugano at about 20:00. On Saturday and Sunday there are also night buses. The bus stops right in front of the hotel. Any client stuck at the train station can give the hotel a ring.
