The Hotel Böll is situated in a peaceful yet central location in Essen. For 7 decades the hotel has been in the possession of the current family owners, and has been run as a bed & breakfast establishment. Modern hotel comforts and traditional management are our trademark.

Belonging to the hotel compound are an impressive gallery wing and a park. Altogether, these give the hotel a special charm and distinctive character.

The writer Heinrich Böll was often a guest of his cousin, the architect, at the Hotel Böll. Together with the photographer Karl-Heinz Chargesheimer they developed here the book 'In the Ruhr district', which documents the Ruhr district of the 1950s in unparalleled fashion, with text and pictures.
