Those Crazy Walkers! The Pheasant is located in the middle of one of the biggest walks in Cheshire, the 34 mile Sandstone Trail. From Scotland and the North: Travel West accross M56 then onto M53 Southbound which becomes the A55 Chester by-pass. Exit via sliproad at signpost to A51. Take 3rd exit off roundabout then left at first set of traffic lights. At next roundabout take first exit signposted A41. Travel South on A41 passing through villages of Waverton and Hatton Heath. 1 mile South of Hatton Heath turn left onto Chester Road, signposted Tattenhall and Burwardsley. On entering Tattenhall (school on left) turn right at first T junction and after 50 yards, at next junction, turn left. After 2 miles you will reach the Post Office in Burwardsley. Bear left up Higher Burwardsley Road, signposted Pheasant Inn. After half a mile turn left into Pennsylvania Road and The Pheasant is immediately on your right. From South and East of England Exit J16 M6 Motorway. Follow A500 Westbound to Nantwich. From Nantwich take A534, cross over dog-leg junction with A49 then continue on A534, after 3.6 miles turn right into Harthill Lane at Copper Mine pub. After 1 mile turn right, signposted Burwardsley and continue into Burwardsley. At post office bear right up Higher Burwardsly Road, signposted Pheasant Inn. After half a mile turn left into Pennsylvania Road and The Pheasant is immediately on your right. 1. From Chester Travel South on A41 passing through villages of Waverton and Hatton Heath. 1 mile South of Hatton Heath turn left onto Chester Road, signposted Tattenhall and Burwardsley. On entering Tattenhall (school on left) turn right at first T junction and after 50 yards, at next junction, turn left. After 2 miles you will reach the Post Office in Burwardsley. Bear left up Higher Burwardsley Road, signposted Pheasant Inn. After half a mile turn left into Pennsylvania Road and The Pheasant is immediately on your right. 2. From Warrington and Tarporley From traffic light junction of A49 and A51 head South down A49, after 0.8 miles pass under railway bridge, after 0.3 mile turn right signposted Beeston, Tattenhall and Burwardsley. After 1mile, on entering village of Beeston, turn right. After 3.2 miles you will reach a T junction. Turn left and after 1 mile you will enter the village of Burwardsley. At the Post Office, bear left into Higher Burwardsley Road, signposted Pheasant Inn. After half a mile turn left into Pennsylvania Road and The Pheasant is immediately on your right. 3. From Whitchurch and Wrexham. From roundabout junction of A534 and A41 at Broxton, travel East on A534 for 1.2 miles (until Copper Mine pub on your right) then turn left into Harthill Lane. After 1 mile turn right, signposted Burwardsley and continue into Burwardsley. At post office bear right up Higher Burwardsly Road, signposted Pheasant Inn. After half a mile turn left into Pennsylvania Road and The Pheasant is immediately on your right.
