Situated in the pretty Hertfordshire village of Wadesmill, this beautifully preserved 17th-century coaching inn now combines modern comforts and facilities with traditional charm.

The charming restaurant and traditional bar are at the heart of the Feathers Inn. Old exposed brickwork, original wooden beams and welcoming log fires create a cosy, relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy tasty food and an extensive range of fine wines, cask ales and lagers. The menu changes regularly and offers a wide choice of traditional and vegetarian dishes.

On Sundays, the traditional carvery offers a superbly cooked range of meats and poultry and has become locally renowned for top quality food and excellent value for money.

The Feathers is just off the A10 London to Cambridge Road, with good access to the region's main roads, including the M25 and M11 motorways.

There are 31 beautifully furnished en suite rooms.

The Feathers Inn has a rich history, dating back to the early 1600s when it was called The Princes Arms and had been owned by various blacksmiths and tanners.

In 1615, Ralph Osbertson purchased the inn and later, in 1670, allowed his son to change the name to The Feathers. It subsequently became one of the busiest coaching inns in the area, stabling over 100 horses. Documents of the period mention 5 bedrooms, a step parlour, moon parlour, lion parlour and various other rooms.

Travel from London on the a10 and you will find us 2 minutes from the Ware turn off. Come up the m11 and turn off at junction 8 near Stansted Airport and travel West to the a10 and turn South to Wadesmill and Ware. We are a short drive from Stansted Airport.
