This magnificent country hotel is set in the heart of the Andalusian countryside in Rute, surrounded by olive groves, mountains and a secluded lake.

The typical whitewashed building of the María Luisa is surrounded by lush gardens and an outdoor swimming pool. Relax on the sun loungers found here and soak up the warm southern sunshine. You can also enjoy a dip in the indoor pool during the cooler winter months.

Enjoy views of the surrounding Sierra from the balcony of your own room. This surrounding area of Rute is famous for its production of aniseed liqueurs and traditional Spanish Christmas sweets. It is also a short drive to the monumental cities of Granada, Malaga and Cordoba.

Our hotel invites you to discover the heart of Andalucia, a region steeped in history which offers no end of attractions. Onsite, you can relax with a drink in the bar-cafe and lounge area, or take a dip in the jacuzzi.

" The stay at this hotel can best be described as mixed. the room itself was large with twin beds a sofa bed and a small single bed which was more suitable for a child than an adult and plenty of wardrobe space. The bathroom was large but only lit by spotlights around the mirror. There were two sinks and a large corner bath with a hand held shower. The bath plug mechanism did not work and without some DIY work on it a bath would not have been possible. On the first night the hot water was only tepid and not hot enough for a bath or shower. After complaint there was hot water the following night,however, this did not last and for the next two nights the water was only tepid again. After further complaint we had hot water for our last two nights. For a very large room the lighting was atrocious, with only one small double wall light for an L-shaped room. It was not possible to read in the main sitting area. To counter these somewhat negative comments at least the restaurant was good. The menu had a good choice of reasonably priced dishes which were well cooked. the hotel is situated on the edge of the town where there is considerable development taking place. The town of Rute has little to commend it except that it can be a base to visit places such as Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, etc. At 60 Euros/night including breakfast,the hotel represented good value in spite of the shortcomings outlined. "
