We will warmly welcome you at our country location, 7 miles from Lerwick, where you will be at the centre of Shetland, and the centre of our attention.

Our well-maintained hotel has an impressive mix of furnishings, creating a unique style in the public areas. We have 13 well-appointed, individually decorated, en suite bedrooms. You can dine in our Phoenix Restaurant where we use and promote the finest of local produce.

A warm, friendly, well appointed hotel specialising in fishing holidays, ideally situated for walking holidays and located within walking distance of 2 golf courses and 2 fishing lochs.

Centrally situated close to the main town of Lerwick and the ancient capital of Scalloway.

For dining you may join us in the period ambience of Phoenix restaurant for a leisurely evening of fine dining with some of the best Shetland produce. We operate on a bookings only system and bookings must be made before 17:00 that evening. We also use our own Shetland Lamb along with local beef, fish and produce. Breakfasts are served in the Phoenix Restaurant.

Herrislea House Hotel, Lerwick - Directions

The hotel is situated in the central mainland, a 10 minute walk from Tingwall Airport for travel to the outer isles. By Car: From the main airport at Sumburgh (40 minutes): - Take the main A970 to the north for around 40 km (25 miles), passing through Lerwick - Around 11 km (7 miles) out of Lerwick you will see the Shetland Golf course on the right. The hotel sign is at the top of the hill. - Take the 1st left and you will see the red hotel building at the foot of the hill. From the oil terminal airport of Scatsta (30 minutes): - Leave the airport and turn right onto the B9076 to Brae. - At Brae turn left on the A970 south (Lerwick) for around 32 km (20 miles). - After entering the area of Tingwall, take the 2nd turn right for Veensgarth. - Your will see the red hotel building on your left. Take a left at the mini roundabout and the hotel is 50 metres further on. From the ports of Lerwick and Scalloway (11 km / 7miles), taxis to the hotel cost around 10 GBP.
