Constructed around a converted farmhouse, this is an ideal location for those in search of energetic activity or a leisurely stay. Unwind in the heated indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi or spa; or brighten your day in the solarium. For a little exercise, the area is ideal for scenic riverside walks or coarse fishing, whilst you can also work-out in the mini-gym, improve your tennis or try a clay pigeon shoot. Alternatively the staff can also help you arrange a vast array of activities including archery, go-karting, canoeing, caving, hill walking, horse riding and rock-climbing.

2 bars with traditional pub games complement the on site restaurant, ensuring you are refreshed and entertained after what will surely be a memorable day.

Handily placed for the A38 and Cheddar, Weston-Super-Mare, Wells and Bath, Laburnum House Lodge Hotel offers plenty to do whilst you enjoy your stay within the picturesque Somerset Levels.

The swimming pool and gymnasium are free for you to use, whilst the jacuzzi, spa and solarium can be enjoyed for a small additional charge. The tennis court is also free for guests, and rackets and balls are available for hire.

" We have now stayed at the hotel three times over the past two years both as a family and as a couple and will return any time we are in the area. The only down side is we never have enough time to fully enjoy the facilities and the local countryside. Also an ideal location for any type of Party/event. 10/10 in every department. "

" The accomodation was excellent except for the poor sound insulation , which resulted in our not being able to get any sleep before 4 a.m. due to noise from the adjoining room. Due to this fact, I am afraid I would not be able to recommend the hotel to anyone. "

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Area Information

Laburnum House is situated in the village of Huntspill, situated between the towns of Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea. A prominent feature of the area is the Huntspill Nature Reserve. Spanning the length of the Huntspill River, which flows near the the hotel, the reserve is a notable haven for various (sometimes rare) species of birds, fish and insects. Other attractions include: Middlemoor Water Park (5 km / 3 miles) - this 20 acre artificial lake offers water ski, wakeboard, jet ski and karting facilities. Cheddar Caves and Gorge (21 km / 13 miles) - an area of rugged natural beauty, including Britain's largest gorge, which climbs as high as 122 metres above the road. The famous caves were inhabited by human ancestors up to 40,000 years ago. Wells (29 km / 18 miles) - said to be England's smallest city, this historic location is home to a number of architectural attractions. Its renowned cathedral has features which date back to the 10th century.
