The hotel was inaugurated in the latter half of the 20th century to meet the needs of the artists, painters, sculptors, musicians, journalists and travellers who gravitated around Piazza del Popolo and the Luxor Cafè and gathered in this Bohemian area of the city.

Taxis are readily available from outside the airport and a taxi from the airport to the hotel should take about 40 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the direct bus to Anagnina Metro station and then take the Metro to the hotel or you can take the direct train from the airport to Rome's Termini train station. By Train/Metro: From Rome's Termini train station, take the red line (line A) on the city's Metro system to Flaminio-Piazza del Popolo or Spagna.
