Nestled in the low hills overlooking the Tiber Valley, between two small lakes, this 17th-century farmhouse offers 5 independent apartments, tastefully furnished to blend modern comfort with the timeless tones of the Umbrian hills.

Near the border between Umbria and Tuscany, the farmhouse is ideally located within easy driving distance of scenic and historic centres, such as: Città di Castello (18 km); Arezzo (50 km); Cortona (35 km); Perugia (55 km); Assisi (68 km); and Lake Trasimeno (42 km).

The small lake next to the farmhouse is perfect for swimming, sports fishing, picnics (in the shady pine woods that line its shores) or quiet meditation. In front of the farmhouse there is also a pool (6x12 metres) which is fully equipped for counter-current swimming and hydro-massage.

The pool is open (May through September) to all registered guests.

Cook-outs and barbecues: outdoor cooking is one of the best ways to enjoy the specialties of the Umbrian table: savoury game, garden-fresh vegetables from a local market, fresh bread, and delicious wine. The ancient bread oven near the farmhouse can also be used to prepare your own tasty homemade pizzas. Culinary Events: special evenings organized (sometimes at the request of guests) to celebrate various events, from the wheat harvest to the Night of the Falling Stars. They're occasions for guests to meet one another and enjoy the excellent local wines and traditional Umbrian dishes prepared by local cooks (grilled pork, porcini mushrooms, fragrant truffles, homemade fettucini with a piquant pork ragout and a variety of other delicacies). Cooks: for private occasions, local cooks can be hired to create special meals in guests' apartments (minimum: 8 people). Restaurants: special discounts are available for guests in various restaurants near the farm.

By Car: From Rome: - Take the A1. - Exit at Orte. - Continue towards Perugia/Cesena (E45). - After you pass Perugia Ponte San Giovanni, follow the indications for Cesena. - Exit at Promano (about 50 km from Perugia). - Go toward Trestina and then Calzolaro. - Once you've passed Calzolaro take the junction for Lugnano and follow the indications for Agriturismo di Sant'Illuminato. From Milan: - Take the A1. - Exit at Arezzo and go toward San Sepolcro/Citta' di Castello (E45). - Once you've passed Citta' di Castello in the direction of Perugia, exit at Promano (about 50 km from Perugia). - Continue towards Trestina and then Calzolaro. - Then, as above. By Air: Perugia International Airport (Sant'Egidio): 40 km. By tourist or ultralight aircraft: Sant'Illuminato landing strip (appropriate only for ultralight or tourist aircraft of civil aviation able to operate on a surface of 550 x 25 metres and after authorisation by the landing strip operator). By Train: Perugia-Ponte San giovanni train station, Ferrovia Centrale Umbra line toward San Sepolcro. Get off at Trestina.
