Nature is the major attraction of the area with Picos de Europa National Park, which offers many footpaths for walking enthusiasts of all levels.

Situated 30 km from the Cantabrian coast, where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of Llanes and Ribadesella as well as visiting the typical coastal towns.

Hotel Alda, Cangas de Onis - Directions

By Car from Madrid and South Spain: - Take the A6 motorway for Benavente and exit onto the A66 for Leon. - A few kilometres further, take the AP-66 motorway through the Valle del Huerna (valley) for Oviedo (the fastest and easiest way). - Another option is to continue on the N-630 for Puerto Pajares, then Campomanes, Mieres and Oviedo (this is a slower but a more relaxed way). From Oviedo: - Follow the N-634 for Santander (with a section of approximately 25 kilometres of dual carriageway) for Arriondas. - From here, take the N625 for Cangas de Onís. From Galicia: - Take the N-632 from Ribadeo to Oviedo. From Cataluña and Valle del Ebro: - Take the Zaragoza to Bilbao motorway and continue along the Autovía del Cantábrico (dual carriageway). - In Bilbao, take the A8 E70 for Santander and continue onto the A67 for Torrelavega. - Once in Torrelavega, continue along the N634 then E70 for Ribadesella, and take exit 326 for Arriondas (N634). By plane: From the airport take a bus to the nearest main city, Oviedo or Santander, and from there take a coach or a train. Hotel Alda is situated 15 kilometres from Cangas de Onís in the direction of Arenas de Cabrales.
