Built in the 16th Century by members of the Portuguese court when Vila Viçosa was still the home of the Royal House of Bragança, the Solar dos Mascarenha guards centuries of history within its walls. Effortlessly combining the present with the past, the hotel building was redesigned by architect João Paulo Ferreira, endowing it with modernity and 18 rooms and 4 suites in the manor house old gardens. Each accommodation unit has its own bathroom, air-conditioning, LCD TV, Internet access and direct-line telephone.

Taking his inspiration from the creativity of the Alentejo gastronomy and flavours from various cultures, Chef Cláudio Cardoso conjures up a tantalising menu in the Restaurante do Pao, aptly complementing the hotel quality services.
