November 14, 2011I am aware it was the owners last week in charge. The bar was friendly, and the log fire was warm and appealing
The room was cold, the heaters didnt work and the shower didnt work. I appreciate that the brewery had someone in checking the electrics, but this apparently didnt cover the rooms. I thought the standard of the of the breakfast was poor.

June 21, 2011An Olde Worlde Hotel of great charm, which certainly impressed some Texans who were also staying there. The food was excellent. The rooms were a bit cramped, and would not find favour with families, perhaps. The management goes to great lengths to make sure that guests without cars are collected from the nearest Railway station, and taken back there when their stay ended--that was especially `appreciated by the Texan couple.

June 17, 2011Pretty village with easy access to main road to Oxford and Bicester. Excellent food and beer. Quiet location
Room a bit on the small side and they can out of any marmalade and jam on both mornings.

June 14, 2011The White Horse itself is a lovely old building full of character situated in a beautiful little village that has been unspoilt by the ravages of our time, I.E. fast-food outlets and so called super stores that seem to be blighting every town and village in our beloved country. The staff were helpful especially the chef who served up some great food and kept us all entertained with his singing whilst preparing breakfast, the man obviously loves his job.
Unfortunately the room we had was very tired and worn out, clean but needed a total makeover. Not worth the £80 price tag.

June 2, 2011Breakfast was plentiful and good quality
The rooms were not very private as you had staff taking cigarette breaks outside the part glass door to your room. A badly placed curtain was all you had for privacy.

June 1, 2011The village was quiet and the hotel has lots of character. The village was very quiet, we didn't see one person walking around. Breakfast was good. Parking was fine. The hotel was close to Bicester Shopping Village, a 25 minute drive.
Our upstairs room was cramped and cold despite the heater in the room. There weren't enough plug sockets for kettle/tv and heater to be on at the same time. The village was ultra quiet, not even a village shop. The evening meal was pricey (e.g veg pie and chips £12) and offset the initial value of the room. Overall decor was a bit tired.

March 28, 2011the food in the resteraunt was very good. The menu was short but varied and the portions big.We liked the idea of having a drink and walking across the carpark to bed.
Because the rooms are just next to carpark it was noisey from car doors, cars driving past and chatter from the smokers outside. The room was nice but in need of a re-vamp.

A lovely building in a country area. A bubbly waitress, always smilinorg.
On arrival we were met by our host who showed our room. She then sang the praises of her chef who she described as wonderful. I immediately searched for a large pinch of salt. At dinner on the first evening there were four specials, one of which was pheasant. It was a Friday and the waitres said they had ran out the previous night. I then chose steak and kidney pie. It was full of fat and gristle. My wife chose pork and apple en croute, which was a strange ort of establishmentconcoction not dissimilar to a Cornish pasty mix. Both of these items were obviousely bought in and not even transport caff quality. As for the veg. The chef, if there is one must think el-demte means raw. At breakfast there was supposed to be cereals and juices available but on the first of our two night stay there were not. Our eggs were burned to a cinder and the sausages were pongy and inedible. On the second evening the specials were the same but pheasant crossed off. What sort of establishment can have a weekend special and run out on Thursday. For your information my wife and I are both qualified chefs. and for some time sourced and supplied quality fruit, veg, fish, and poultry for a caterer of functions at a local stately home. n addition I would like to say that drink prices were excessive, and as an experienced business man I feel that this hotel`s days are numbered unless big changes are made. One further comment- not more than three miles away in Deddington there is a high class butcher and game dealer, who could supply ingredients which match the overpriced menu at this establishment.
