Arhontiko Kefalari, Kefalarion - Hotel Description

This 1880 mansion was renovated with respect to the architectural traditions of Kefalari village, retaining the original atmosphere and warmth, while offering all modern comforts and maximum hospitality.

In 1880, the tradesman Georgios Roumpekas of Kefalari village built an architecturally splendid mansion under the shade of a huge old oak and next to the church and village square. The mansion lost some of its glamour, but its special stone elements remained unchanged. However, with the help of Apostolos Parpairis, Professor of Engineering, we have now refurbished this mansion. The rooms are equipped with traditional and comfortable furniture. Mountain bikes and a mini-bus are available for excursions. You can also find delicious traditional food next door to the pension.

Arhontiko Kefalari, Kefalarion - Area Information

Almost everybody knows the mythology of Hercules' Feats. Now we invite you to visit one of the most important places described in those Feats - Stimfalia's region and Kefalari village. Although this is an unknown destination for most people, those who love the beauty of nature and the natural way of living are familiar with it. Kefalari village has been selected by the Naturalist Association many years ago in order to create a guest house for their members. It is a historical place which has existed since 1600 AD with the ancient name Dousia. It is situated at the foot of the mountain named Ziria or Kyllini. which was also the place where the ancient god Hermes was born. A huge oak, which is 150 years old, dominates the square of the village and shades the old church and Kefalari Pension. A natural path that leads to an incredible forest starts at village square. Other paths for those who enjoy hiking, lead to the top of mountain Ziria, the ravine of Flampouritsa and the cavern of Hermes. Excursions to the mountain can be arranged. These involve going along the old road that connects Kefalari with Trikala village.
