Cumbria and the Lake District are often referred to as 'the most beautiful corner of England'. Shap Wells is the ideal place from which to discover this 'beautiful corner'. Some of the country's most spectacular scenery and historic towns and picturesque villages can be found within an hour of the hotel. Shap Wells has extensive lounges with bar facilities, one of which, the Riverside Lounge, overlooks the River Birkbeck and fells.

The hotel has undergone a continuous programme of expansion and refurbishment over the last 40 years.
