Hotel is in a great location, not far from Motorway
Check in staff very poor, they had us booked in under out Christian names, using them as our surname, offcourse it was the fault of Active Hotels not them They then overcharged for our stay, they charge

The room was very spacious and had a great bathroom which is ideal for disabled. If we stayed again would ask for same style room.

The breakfast arrangements were a great improvement upon the porr experience we had when we visited just a month ago Our complaints were mry in full, we actually had our tea served speedily instead of having to ask three times and it finally arrived when we had finished our breakfast. Olease pass on our appreciarion to the restaurant manager.

Barceló Daventry Hotel, Daventry - Reviews & Ratings"Our otherwise good experience of the hotel was tarnished by the fact that we were given a room directly adjacent to the stage doors of the function room which served to amplify the sound of the disco until 1am. We were unable to telephone reception to request an alternate room as the phone was not working. I feel that a little forward planning could have avoided our discomfort by simply ensuring that the wedding guests were assigned the room closest to the function rooms. If we had only had the room on the other side of the corridor, things would have been far more bearable. We were given a discount at checkout, however the situation could easily have been avoided and our experience would have only been spoiled by the childrens meal items spuriously added to our bill on a night when there were only three tables occupied in the restaurant. Conclusion - nice hotel let down by some staff." (99238705)

ROOM WAS A GOOD SIZED ROOM WITH A COMFORTABLE BED
SERVICE IN THE RESTAURANT WAS POOR. aSKED FOR A SWEET MENU AND A DRINK, 3/4 HOUR LATER I WAS STILL SAT THERE WAITING. THE FOOD WAS TASTLESS AND OVER PRICED WITH LIMITED CHICE.

The overall impression on walking in the room (229) was good and the bed was comfortable.
Although power shower fitted the shower screen flooded the bathroom floor each time the shower was used (we mopped up the water) The washhand basin looked fantastic (new style flat bottomed) BUT after ten seconds the plug controls failed and the chrome plug had to be clawed out with nails.....What was wrong with a plug and chain???

I pointed out that I was not asked if i would like one! Asked for some dressing for a salad - never received it. Plates were cleared from my husband at breakfast whilst I was still eating! Ate 3 times - no one ever asked if we enjoyed our food. But, did have excellent service from some staff - down to you to work out who needs customer service training! We only stayed for 1 night and therefore didnt get the chance to use any of the leisure facilities. We stayed with our 4 year old and 12 week old baby, the hotel staff couldnt be more accomodating. Clean , tidy, bright and cheerful. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!
Leisure centre needed some tlc - dangerously large area of broken tiles in swimming pool. Jacuzzi and steam room out of order. Sauna was separate for men and women.

However, the room was tired and in need of renovation. There was no on-line facility which is unusual nowadays and restrictive for business travellers. The cold water supply failed which meant a choice of scalding water or none at all, thus you couldn't take a shower. Overall, the hotel didn't live up to it's rating and therefore represented poor value for money." (3304372830)

The Chef. the food varied from bland, to over seasoned. However it was a very quiet evening with very few guests and the usual carvery was not in use.

1. They did not have our booking!!! 2. They tried to charge me double when I checked out...this could have been a mistake but last time we stayed at a Barcelo we had pre-paid and later they charged my card again without my permission. 3. About half the breakfast items on the menu were not available. 4. There was no hot tub...the old one was full of concrete and the new one was not ready.
