Radiator far too hot and no means of turning it down. Mattresses were very hard.

The staff were always polite and helpful even in the ealy hours of the morning. Although the accomodation was quite basic it was very clean, quite comfortable and nice and quiet (we were fortunate enough to get a room in the back, no view but no street noise either). Basic but definately very good value for money." (97804084)
The accommodation was very clean, the daily room service was great and we experienced excellent customer service provided by the front of house staff - we found them very helpful. The location, while not in the centre of Paris, was still very convenient being so close to Gare de L'est underground train station. We had no transportation troubles at all.
The shower head/hose mount was missing so we were not able to stand under the shower. we had to hold the shower head in order to wash.

Grand Hôtel De Paris, Paris - Reviews & Ratings"The area is quite rough so you need to be aware of pickpockets etc. The piano bar opposite the hotel on rue de strasbourg was quite nice and the staff were friendly. make sure you confirm your booking as we recieved a double bed for an all male party although the staff did help out by adding another bed to another triple room to help us out. hotel was basic but reasonably priced but the area is not the nicest, its ok for an overnight base but not for couples doing the 'Paris weekend thing' try another area not garde de nord." The hotel is very close to garde de l'est railway station and the rooms were basic but clean & reasonable value for money.
the breakfast isn't worth the money so go to a nearby caf

L'emplacement est bien situé pour prendre les trains soit à gare de l'Est ou à gare du Nord.
Le confort des chambres sont trés juste. L'insonoristion des chambres est inexistant, en entant tout les bruits des chambres voisins et le sol des chambres est inpensable. 20 cm de faux niveau en biais d'un côté du mur à l'autre côté du mur. Le lit n'est pas pose horizontalement mais en biais. En pourrait dire de coucher à la montage, les pieds plus haut que la tête. Tres juste. D.F.

Very convenient location to main transport links. Wonderfully warm in the middle of the coldest weather in Paris for twenty years. French, German and English language programs on the bedroom TV and multi-lingual desk staff. Quaint, old fashioned rooms but very clean.
