Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"This was the third time I have stayed at this hotel, same business stop over each time. The owner and his wife are excellent hosts. He is a very goos cook and provides tasty meals which cover a good range of choices. I will be staying next year and I am looking forward to the seeing the extension and the other improvements they are in the process of making." (97904965)
Good comfortable bed with new pillows. Coffee and tea facilities were well stocked.

Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"An excellent location, easy to find being only a short distance from a main road yet very peacefull with a good outlook. Accommodation although dated still good, clean and comfortable. Food and service very good. Overall a family run business giving very good value all round. Would recommend it for any one wanting a quiet break." (97210836)
Made to feel very welcome by the pleasant helpfull staff. Good choice of menu, reasonably priced but very well presented. Good hearty breakfast, just right to set you up for the day.

Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"Nice hotel, but room was a bit overpriced for size. Having said that, we would return again in warmer weather." (107636572)
Excellent food, friendly staff, good location.
"Superior room", although nicely decorated, was very small and had no view worth mentioning. Room was freezing cold after the heating went off at night. Bathroom had no fan so the condensation literally rained from the ceiling. The access lane could be a bit scary to the more nervous driver!

Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"Worth a visit and a good location for the heritage coast. Reasonably priced and when the new terrace is finished it will enhance the enjoyment of the place. " (107264484)
Friendly people in beautiful location. Fabulous view of the sea and well placed for the west Dorset coast. In fact we went as far afield as Lulworth Cove and travelling time was reasonable and routes easy. Local seaside at Seaton and Axmouth, as well as West Bay - go for the cliffs! - spectacular! - were lovely local spots to the hotel. Access is a bit tight down tiny lanes but worth it for the views and walking access to a pretty beach. Food-wise the breakfasts were by far the best thing - beautifully presented and really set us up for the day - we didn't need lunch and just made do with cream teas!
Bar meals were much better value than the resteraunt which was over priced for what it is, and fixed at three courses which we ate but really didn't want! Unfortunately the building works were still behind schedule; although this didn't intrude too much the glimpses of what would be available soon were tantalizing! The room was a bit small and we did fall over ourselves a bit. Decor was dated and a bit stale. To visit the local beach you do need to be reasonably fit and in the hotel there was no concession to access issues, no lift.

Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"I have stayed at the hotel on previous occasions and will continue to go back. The location is superb and the fact that it is set away from the town makes it very appealable. The food has always been fantastic and very reasonable which means there is no need to have to go and find anywhere else to eat. I found the staff very approachable and they were always on hand should any of the guests require anything. A very enjoyable stay!" (99272959)
The accomodation was very comfortable and clean.

Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"I had a great stay at the Hotel with very friendly owners and staff the room I had was great with a nice view. The breakfast was a good standard and variety to fill you up for a start to your day.The evening meal again was of excellant standard with a good mix for all. Both meals each day are at the right times and you feel under no pressure to rush so that the staff could get off home. I had no real complaints about anything just a couple of minor points. 1)the address on the web site is a little misleading. As I was using a GPS I didn't copy the dirctions down so when I got to Bridport I could't find the Hotel and after driving up and down Bridport had to ring for directions, after I got there and put Eypes I had no problems so I would like it shown that it is near Bridport or just outside Bridport. 2)I would like Sky or cable T.V 3)It would be nice if they searved a few more local things I.E Creamed Tea,Pasties and a larger variety of Ciders as this is one of the reasons you travel to this part of the uk." (97164513)
The hotel was beautifully located and the view was very nice onerlooking the sea.The staff were first class and the food was fantastic. You didn't have too far to travel to local main roads for easy access to further destinations.

Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"Over all we enjoyed our stay at The Eypes Mouth hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful as were the management. The Room was kept in a clean and tidy condition. The quality of the food was excellent. The Hotel is in a beuitiful position over looking the sea. It lays on a Lane which can be awkward to access as it is a single traffic sitation. It would have been useful to have Known that in the beginning. The walk to the sea front is a bit hazardous. This because you walk down the single traffic lane. Our overall visit was very satisfactory. We would and will go there again in the future." (97330768)

We like the fact that it is well sign posted and the instructions on getting there were excellent. It has high standards and helpful, polite and friendly staff. To us, it was important that it was quiet and tranquil. The decor may be a little dated, but that is not a real problem." (3305260535)
Most importantly, it was clean, quiet, with friendly, polite staff. The food was of top quality and well presented.
Someone seems to have tampered with the room TV as only two channels were available.

The only negative was the lack of a proper shower - on a positive note there was always a plentiful supply of hot water!! The view from our room was delightful and it was a very peaceful location - very relaxed! We look forward to returning!" (3305142774)

Very friendly, competent reception, bar and resaurant staff. Excellent menu and food in the resaurant. Nice seating areas before and after dinner.
Pokey little room with tired facilities. OK for one night but would not like to have stayed longer. Getting to the hotel was a nightmare, with the only access down a busy lane with no passing places.

Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"Staying at this Hotel was very relaxing,I was on business in the area so this suited me fine. The room which had a sea view was comfortable and well equiped.I opted for a meal and a few drinks in the Smugglers bar-it was busy at first with not many places to sit and the service was a bit slow.It appeared to be popular with non residents. Breakfast was excellent" (3305213332)

I decided to eat in the hotel and was very pleased I did as the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced, worth going back just for this!! Eype's Mouth Country Hotel, Bridport - Reviews & Ratings"Having booked on line we were not made aware of the building works in progress at the Hotel. This did have an impact on our stay as one of the Bars was not in use and the terraces which looked so inviting on the internet site(and espcially as the weather was wonderful) were un-useable due to the work in progress. We did not feel we could relax at the Hotel during the day due to the noise of the ongoing construction noise." (97760150)

When we went to breakfast we were at seperate tables at opposite side of the dining room. We were only there for one night, the staff were very friendly but I could not have stayed more than one night in such a small bedroom. It was ver claustrophobic." (3304216424)
The breakfast was excellent. The location. The dining room.
The decor is very dated. The hotel is old fashioned and would be lovely with a little cash injection.

It is isolated but the food and wine in the resturant was very good quality and great value; not necessary to go out to find a meal. Breakfast was good too. The young staff were helpful and the bar comfortable. The room and ensuite bathroom was compact compared with chain hotels but was pleasanty decorated and had a comfortable bed." (3304267238)

Rooms are rather small, though comfortable, neat and clean.
