there weren't any
the room i'd booked hadn't been allocated, therefore we didn't have an executive room, just a standard room. the bar was closed before 11pm and the staff were extremely rude and wouldn't let us purchase any drinks even to take to our room. we stayed there with two other couples who both had poor experiences. i will not be recommending this hotel to anyone or staying there again

Aston Hotel, Darlington - Reviews & Ratings"Unfortunately the site I booked on didn't say whether there was lunch and evening meals, so we nearly didn't book, but the meals were very good and reasonably priced, although vegetables were too hard for our personal taste. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we were able to borrow a multi socket to charge our phones as sockets in bedroom were too close to surface. The car park was spacious and had CCTV, which gave us peace of mind." (97945484)
It was very clean, fairly spacious with a king size bed. Excellent power shower.
No proper bathroom, consisted of shower and toilet, the sink was in the bedroom, not enough room for toiletries etc. Insufficient lighting at the dressing table.

Location proved ideal for my business visit which did not allow time to explore places of local interest , but other visitors might be interested to know what the area has to offer. The Restaurant and Bar provide a good selection of food and drink. I would be happy to stay again when next in the area." (97967563)

Despite being a standard room, it had a built-in desk area and free wi-fi internet access, both would have been ideal for business travellers. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and no pressure to rush through the morning before checking out. We were delighted with our stay and wish Aston every success in opening further hotels around the country." (97421623)
I liked the value for money. It was very clean, had everything you might want including free wi-fi and had plenty of space. We even chose to stay in that evening as it was so comfortable.

The accommodation was very clean and well presented. It gave the appearance of having been prepared to make our stay very enjoyable. All the staff were extreemly pleasant and made us both very welcome.
Only 1 set of towels available in the room. One of the bedside light fittings was becoming detached from the wall!

The room was a good size and we were not cramped as we were travelling with a considerable amount of luggage. The room and the hotel was clean and generally very pleasant
The wash basin was in the room separate from the shower and toilet.

I found the hotel to be of a good standard, clean and very good value for money. The 59 Brasserie served good food and service was friendly and efficient. It certainly lived up to my expectations. One downside for some may be that it is slightly isolated being just off the A1 between Darlington and Bishop Auckland, however, this suited me perfectly." (97061825)

We chose an executive room which was very well equipped. We stayed for a period of 5 nights and wanted some extra space and luxury.
We were very much aware of the coach parties that were using the hotel because on a number of mornings we were woken at approximately 6 a.m. with the noise of people passing our room in the corridors. The clientele of these coach parties tended to be the elderly group and we experienced some disturbance on their going to breakfast and then preparing to leave.

Aston Hotel, Darlington - Reviews & Ratings"The room smelt of smoke even though it was non smoking room.There was a light bulb not working.I had real problems with the door key and no I did not put it by a mobile phone.The remote on tv worked when it felt like it.Apart from maintenance man who came to fix sink plug not one of the staff were rude but they weren't friendly either.The breakfast table was missing teaspoons and butter.Attention to detail is what is wrong with this place and it spoilt my stay back and forth to the reception desk with a problem." Good size room
WiFi connection did not allow operation for more thar a few minutes at a time. Telephone did not work.

We had an executive room and it was very spacious. Corridors are carpeted which helps to reduce noise.

Nothing. Mmm, well maybe the sound-proofing could have been better. Listening to the action across the corridor while waiting to enter the room left a lot to be desired! Sound-proofing could be increased.

Breakfast was good. The food in the dining room for evening meals was excellent. Good base for our visits in Stockton, Richmond, Durham, Sunderland, etc.
Lack of a bus stop or courtesy vehicle--required a taxi to Darlington to make all connections.

Call the hotel and get the details, they are right on the roundabout but our sat nav took us the total wrong way with the postcode of the hotel. The hotel was superb, clean and had a friendly atmosphere. The room was luxurious and the bed has converted me, I loved it! The shower was very good too. We had a great time overall and we can't wait to pass that way again so we can get more of a stay out of it. Great value for money!" (99692546)
The accomodation was fresh and funky, very modern and absolutely stunning. We loved the room in particular, lots of space, a massive and very comfortable bed which we adored, the shower was huge and very very nice. We are planning to return in the near future as it was only a stop over stay and we never got a chance to try out the resturant which had a very good menu!

the room was immaculate with, all facilities to hand. Pleasant and helpful staff, from booking in to the barman. Breakfast was delicious.
only minor point, room was no-smoking but previous visitor had been smoking, but reception took an air purifier to clear room, with no hesitation.

Aston Hotel, Darlington - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel is well situated on a main junction of the A1, which does mean that some rooms (on the A1 side of the building) do get a bit of traffic noise, but it is not enough to spoil your stay. The Hotel was owned by a major budget hotel company before being operated as the Aston Hotel. The standards are excellent, the hotel is exceptionally clean and the rooms very well presented. The beds are on the firm side but the showers are simply the best I have found anywhere in the UK and the overall experience was very very good. This hotel puts many of the so called upmarket venues to shame and represents wonderful value for money, the polite, friendly and helpful staff just add to experience." (99373646)

i cancelled one reservation over the telephone prior to the date and this was not logged on to the system. i was therefore contacted the following day with regard to this.
