Hôtel Des Arts-Bastille, Paris - Reviews & Ratings"I would have liked to know that there was no TV available in the room and that the room was going to be on the fifth floor without a lift. When I showed my lack of excitement, I was told that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment which is why there was no TV and why the rooms were cheap. I am not sure I can call something cheap when I feel I have wasted money." (3305162154)
Not much I liked! I was grateful the room had a bed!
No TV, two lightbulbs dead out of three which the staff never bothered changing until the second night of our stay and not the cleanest room I have seen in my entire life.

The staff were friendly and helpful.The rooms were cleaned regularly.
My only criticism of the hotel is that there were no shelves in the bathroom and little or no storage space in the bedroom. The wardrobe was very small and only had two hangers.

Hôtel Des Arts-Bastille, Paris - Reviews & Ratings"As the hotel is being refurbished, I had to pass through two really run down levels. These were being worked on by builders and so one had to push through curtains of plastic sheeting and pass builders while they were trying to work. The conditions were really dusty and so you ended up with plaster on your clothes and shoes. The upper levels which had been finished were fine. There was no power in the room when I arrived but this was very swiftly corrected by the helpful receptionist." (2994353)
The room while basic, had lots of character with big windows and was spotlessly clean. The staff were efficient and helpful.
Standard of public areas (stairs & corridoors). Provision of an elevator (there were six floors of winding stair to my room). The hot and cold taps were incorrectly labeled so initially I thought there was no hot water.

The bathroom did not looked cleaned/desinfected (dust, soap spots, hair, and the door had spots which seemed to be blood). It was not possible to hold the shower as it was broken. The shower was too little. There was a kind of colored glass window over the bed so it was not possible to be in complete darkness in the morning." (99899861)

Station de métro pas loin (Charonne) tout Paris à portée de la main pour 49 Euro la nuit. Pour les lèves tard un peu bruillant avec les travaux de rénovation aux étages inférieurs." (2978750)
chambre récemment rénovée, donc très propre.
Finir les travaux du 1er et 2ème étage, (en totale rénovation) donc assez bruillant dès 09:00 le matin.

"I arrived early in the morning and was able to to check in straight away if I was happy to take a room on the 5th floor. It was quite a hard slog up the stairs with my suitcase (no lift) but it didn't kill me. At first glance the room looked lovely - large, clean and bright. Soon, however, I realised there was no tea and coffee provided, no radio or TV, half the lights didn't work, the bedside table had broken off, the main table was dangerously wobbly, the curtains were difficult to pull open, and the curtain rail was about to come down. Street too noisy to have the window open on a hot night." (3305312418)
Overall the staff were helpful and the hotel was very clean and tidy and reasonably close to the central city
