Rising Sun Hotel, Cheltenham - Reviews & Ratings"Just what we needed location wise for family party, some parts of hotel tired in need of a coat of paint, new carpets etc. Overall happy to stay again and maybe try other Old English Inns." (107149142)
Stunning View. Breakfast, meal and service first class. (Only meal taken so cannot comment on other food served.)
Bath and wash basin could have been cleaner.

Rising Sun Hotel, Cheltenham - Reviews & Ratings"The only comment I have was about the actual booking process on the internet - the confirmation email went to my junk folder and for a while I was concerned that the booking was bogus, when I looked back on the website for information there was no contact number anywhere. This concerned me at the time." (97669777)
I thought the room was very good value for money - lovely and spacious, great view and bathroom.

THE VIEW
SEEDY, RUN DOWN AND NEED IN MAJOR RE-DECORATION THROUGHOUT. MORE STAFF TO COPE WITH RECEPTION AND BREAKFAST WOULD ALSO BE OF BENEFIT

Rising Sun Hotel, Cheltenham - Reviews & Ratings"Actually expected this accommodation to be a bit inadequate when we booked from previous reviews but as we were staying only one night and it was very nearby decided to risk it.Certainly would't have wanted to stay there more than one night." (99906632)
Lovely views over valley. Good car parking and very near the event we were attending
Small room looking very tired with peeling varnish and worn looking furniture. Armchair had a freyed arms and window couldn't be shut properly.

Rising Sun Hotel, Cheltenham - Reviews & Ratings"For the cost of the accommodation, the hotel was pleasantly comfortable." (2821916)
It was handy for Cheltenham where my relatives live and the cost was competitive
In the bathroom, the taps were insecure and the water spurted over the basin which was annoying

Rising Sun Hotel, Cheltenham - Reviews & Ratings"My room was basic, but had all things neccessary for a comfortable stay. The menu was comprehensive and the service was quick, however it would be nice to see more local ingredents used." (2418243)
The view from the front of hotel is wonderful.
My room was ok, looking out over the kitchen area in the back. The kitchen air conditioner was noisy and woke me up early in the morning.

"This was the best run place we visited during a 10 day stay in england and wales. I would recommend it to anyone. The room was beautiful, the bath and shower sublime and the staff efficient, pleasant and welcoming. The two meals we enjoyed at the rising sun were delicious, too, and beautifully served." Tthe staff was very pleasant, warm and efficient-- without exception. The breakfast was delicious as was the dinner and service at both was wonderful.
Although the internet booking was the most efficiently conducted one of our trip-- timely response and confirmation, when we arrived there was no record of the booking on the computer.Tthere was a room found for us, however, and it was lovely and the confusion of the lost booking faded quickly.
