"We really enjoyed our visit spoilt by the cold room! We feel that guests need to have a "warm" welcome." (108936532)

    The experience exceeded our expectations.

We visited on a very cool breezy day, although well prepared the room was cold. The heating was not on! the windows are not double glazed and therefore slightly draughty. We closed the heavy curtains, turned on the central heating (c/h) radiator and switched on the auxillary oil filled electric radiator. It took over two hours for the room to become fairly warm. The C/H radiator became warm at the top but not excessively so.

"Dining room staff were smart and attentive. The reception area with its "real fire" crackling and pleasant staff is really welcoming." (108892910)

Dumbleton Hall is siruated in a beautiful spot. very close to places like Evesham and Broadway (which is one of our favourite Cotswold towns). A stay at Dumbleton is always impressive from the moment you progress up the driveway and see the splendid architecture of the building. The interior is equally impressive and it is very evocative of a bygone age.

    None for us

"We enjoyed it and would definately stay again.Have put a review in tripadviser." (107827901)

setting is beautiful, loved the lake and the swans, especially as bread was provided to feed them.breakfast was excellent and the staff good.Apart from the faded old wallparer ,Which is to be expected in such an old building, the room was fine ,no problems with anything.

Would have liked an iron in the room.We stayed midweek,so it was very quiet in the bar.Which lacked atmosphere as a result. However, these are very small points and didnt spoil our stay at all.

Grounds and style. Good staff, large room. Stunning building.

bar shuts at 11 and i arrived at 11. Apparently you can ask for a drink but that feels a little desperate.

The bed was comfortable, great views from the room, I could sleep with the window open and not be bothered by outside noise

No wifi connection in the rooms, some hotels are offering this for free now to entice business people, also I was charged for a 3 course meal when I only had a barsnack and the staff were only interested in some paperwork even though I was standing waiting to check out I'm sure whatever it was it could have waited a couple of minutes, it made me late for my appointment

The hotel is a beautiful country house set in lovely grounds. The public rooms are spectacular. Our bedroom was very nice too and seemed clean enough.

The only tiny improvement I can suggest is in the bathroom. The shower curtain could have been newer and it also kept blowing on me in the shower (because of the extractor fan!). A screen would be cleaner and better.

The breakfast was below average, the fruit juices were warm and the full English was far from satisfactory.

The hotel is in set in beautiful, quiet country side with lovely views. The bed was comfortable and the room newly renovated, if a little chilly.

The hotel was excellent in every way although turning up the heating would have improved it even more.

"While attending there was an important sports event being shown on satellite television. It could have been possible for the hotel to have a receiver. When asking about the local facilities and where it would be possible to view the event, none of the staff were able to provide any guidance or arrange a taxi to collect us. In such a remote location, it surely must be necessary to have an arrangement with a local cab firm." (3304369432)

Food and service were good. Setting was excellent and we were disappointed that the weather was not good enough for us to enjoy the grounds more. The bed was very comfortable.

Cleanliness of the room was poor. It was obvoius that a vacuum cleaner had been pushed around the furniture without moving anything. the shower head had fallen apart and was covered in mould.

"This is such a lovely place - everything a hotel should be in many ways, with excellent food and generally good service. But it badly neeeds a huge injection of cash - our room, whilst huge, had a hole in the ceiling! Overall though, this was a really relaxing hotel and we'd definitely go back. The grounds - pheasants, ducks, sheep - have to be seen." (2744916)

This is a fab place to stay - gorgeous grounds and some of the best food we've ever had in a hotel. We

The welcome - we were left waiting in Reception for a long time, simply because the one member of staff was busy with a large party in the bar. Not her fault - it just needed someone else around.

"Very good accommodation - it is certainly somewhere we will probably return to. The location was perfect as our family live in Dumbleton - their house is 1 minute away. I would have liked to been able to arrange a slightly earlier check-in because we had a long journey and then had to change for a wedding before 2pm. In the event the hotel let us use our room which was helpful - but it was still unserviced." (2773881)

Location, standard/quality of fitments and furnishings used in room, excellent breakfast

There was a wedding on when we arrived so obviously all staff were busy. However, no-one seemed to recognise that we were trying to check in as the desk was unmanned. Whilst we realise that it was a hectic time we felt that the front desk ought to be manned at all times for arrivals.

"The hotel is a lovely building in the middle fo tranquil countryside. The parkland outside the window was being grazed by sheep, and gave a real country feel. The room was confortable with good facilities, although the en-suite was a bit cramped. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant in the evening. The general ambience was good, though we noticed a few places where the paintwork could do with a touch up. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. Overall, a very satisfactory hotel." (2839529)

The meal in the restaurant was excellent. The views from the windows. The ambience of the building.

The decoration was a little tired in places. The bed was lumpy

"This hotal could be absolutely fabulous but would need a multi-million £ overhaul to achieve it. As it is, it is fine and has such awesome architecture and location that the rather 1970's feel to rooms, corridors etc doesn't detract too much. The pricing (i.e. double room B&B for £70) made me realise it was probably going to be like this and I was therefore prepared. If you are looking for traquility in a beautiful building in a beautiful environment and less concerned about atmosphere and hip style - go for it." (2142928)

    Gothic architecture, fabulous location

Slightly run down feel e.g. broken greenhouses in the grounds, bad pictures on the walls.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the whole of our stay as it was nice to be in such a grand hotel in the middle of nowhere! The inside was as grand as the outside, although we did feel that the rooms should maybe be of a similar style to the rest of the hotel, i.e. 4 poster beds, old victorian style furniture oldy-worldy type , this would have made our experience even more enjoyable. The food was excellent although it did take some time to summon a bar person to the bar, the waitresses were very informed which is rarely seen these days." (2100478)

The grandure of the hotel upon approach was magnificent and it looked like a manorhouse.

Rooms could have been more inkeeping with the style of the hotel.

It is a very quiet hotel and the night time bar was soulless. However, the hotel is lovely and we would highly recommend it." (1926236)

Friendly and nice staff. Food was excellent. Room was big and airy.

The room was big and at the end of a corridor so it was really cold. The shower head spurted everywhere and there wasn't any toilet paper - luckily there was a box of tissues in the room.
