I thought the carpet in the room was a little tired. The hot water took several minutes to arrive,I gave up in the end. Finally the window wouldn`t stay shut. The bar shutting at 10pm on a bank holiday Sunday was a little disappointing, considering there were several people in the bar at the time.Had I been the only one in the bar I could understand it.

"Ok for a single night." (107770984)

    The beer is good.

No one was around when I left in the morning. Breakfast appeared to be at another location. No explanation of this was given.

    "Nice relaxing break." (107713287)

Proprietor was very friendly and helpful.

Bedroom and En-suite bathroom needed a good spring clean and de-cobwebbing!

"Didn't get to see a lot of the place as only stopping over on the journey, but looking forward to the opportunity of a return trip." (107599472)

    Steeped in tradition. Beautiful surroundings.

Weather rather miserable so unable to explore the village.

"Overall a pleasent stay in a quirky uneven floored room which has to be said is in need of decoration." (107733865)

    Warm, homely feel.

Young staff inadequately trained especially in the resturant.

"Just about good enough for the money but would have been much improved for being able to get food." (107718854)

Lovely place. Nice bar and open fire. Good barmaid, good beer. Good parking

Bit scruffy in the guest areas. Poor plumbing, could hear water running all night. Frighteningly loud pumped, cheap shower. Mould in shower and very bad sealing. No wiFi. No food for guests after 2130. Next to fairly busy railway line.

"Although I only stayed for 1 night and did not need to use the hotel bar and restaurant, in view of the poor shower, and the fact that a breakfast menu was not available, having had prior confirmation that it was, this was a generally disappointing experience." (107214337)

The double bed was very comfortable with large cushions as well as plenty of pillows.

I had to run the shower a full 10 minutes before any hot water came through, and then had to turn shower setting right down to prevent scalding myself! Overall condition of the room was tired and in definite need of a make-over. Also, my booking confirmation stated that a breakfast menu was available as this was one of the reasons I booked at this hotel, however, breakfast was NOT available!
