"Good overall experience and value for money." (108269905)

Helpfullness of check-in staff, especially Charlotte (sorry - but surname unknown).

Dining room congested, condiments empty or sticky multi-use bottles.

    "Fine" (107740149)

Very convenient for the location of the Ashes Test match.

Catering staff she replace hot choices at the breakfast buffet more promptly.

"Even though I was across the road I did not find this a problem as it was in a wooded area and quite relaxing." (108464857)

Plenty of space in room. Very clean. Breakfast very good. Staff very efficient and friendly

Room a bit too warm, heating was on and because of (understandable) retriction on the window opening it did get a bit stuffy. More local info in room would have been good.

"My adult son and I were attending the Test match at Edgbaston, along, I think with the majority of the visitors that weekend. The conference centre proved to be a good base, and good value, and I'd certainly stay there again." (107670170)

Room was comfortable, and overlooked a pleasant garden setting. Breakfast was very good.

"Very expensive - little comfort" (108380584)

    Convenient. Generous tea & coffee

I would compare your accommodation with that of a Travelodge, against whom you do not fare favourably - it was much more expensive, the shower pressure was very poor so I had difficulty washing my hair, bed linen was a poly cotton mix (so sweaty), it was quite noisy & the decor minimal. £100 room rate was very expensive for what was offered

"Reasonable value for money, for location (2 weeks ago, I had better facilities and super breakfast in North Bham hotel for £35, and colleague stayed locally for £30 at another Conf Centre) Middle of road, no real feelings. Receptionist very professional and capable" (108567687)

Good location for my business meetings, easy to find, easy to park. Good size room and bathroom. Bath AND shower, excellent hot water. Very clean linen and towels. Breakfast OK. Well lit parking

Unsecured internet access with red warning signs. Apparently very lucky to get internet in room, and quite slow. Room a bit shabby and dated. Poor TV reception, couldn't get Channel 4 at all and 1,2,3 all 'snowy'. Accommodation spread out in different buildings, got wet (appalling weather!) going between room, breakfast etc. Not very well signposted where breakfast is - especially Saturday, when in different building! Annoyed to hear people bragging about paying less than me (£38.50 a night). Couldn't securely lock door from inside (Yale lock, no chain or bolt).

"Would not recommend at all. Will not return." (107820461)

Fairly unfriendly, standard university student accomodation a bit polished and simply too expensive for the standard, as usual too hot in the room, water too cold, and the bed was awful.

"Useful hotel because of location, but below standard of, say, typical motel. Meals very good although a little expensive. " (107597431)

Great location and very quiet. Free parking.

Dated student-dorm style accommodation. Low ceiling in bathroom made it hard for tall person to stand upright in shower. Shower pressure inadequate owing to incorrect shower head. Room and bathroom not really clean.

    Very friendly reception on arrival.

Room clean. Staff courteous. Convenient location.

My bedside light was not working when I arrived at around 9pm. When I phoned to ask for a replacement, I was informed (politely) that the lady was on her own so it would be 10pm at the earliest before another member of staff arrived and would be able to replace it. I declined the offer and made the switch with the desklight myself as all I wanted to do after a long day and journey was shower and read in bed. I had requested a quiet room as I am a light sleeper. Presumably to comply with that request I was put in Garth House but I felt a little uneasy there as a lone female traveller. The repated banging of the firedoor next to my room later on was a surprisingly reassuring noise under the circumstances, telling me that there were other people around.I had not realised that I would not be staying in the main building where breakfast was served. On a dry and sunny morning, the outdoor walk to breakfast was a pleasurable stroll; had it been otherwise, then I would have preferred to have been forewarned aboutit.

"This accommodation suited our needs perfectly (family party in Bournbrook) and if we come back to Birmingham, it would certainly be a good choice of accommodation with its rail link - but most importantly we had a good night's sleep because it was so quiet! - a rarity in many hotels" (107679144)

Three rooms booked. Warm, comfortable, modern feel to the room, equipment worked, above all it was quiet. Very good choice at breakfast.

windows could obviously do with being double-glazed (condensation on windows in morning) but that is something for a major overhaul as and when funding is available. It didn't detract from the overall comfort of the room.

Location - perfect for us. Great breakfast. Room fine. Friendly & helpful.

If only they had a SIGN saying the name of the hotel! Its says LUCAS as the hotel name - I was looking for the Conference Hotel.

"It nearly did not happen because my booking was not notified to the venue. The late night recptionist was, however, concerned, efficient and helpful and I would very happily stay there again - but would contact them direct. " (107834405)

The venue was clean, well run and very pleasant with a late night bar and excellent breakfast.

My on-line booking was not notified to the venue. When i arrived late at night they had no record of my booking and did not recognise the rate quoted on my confirmation from you. Luckily they had a room clear for two of the three nights for which I had booked and the receptions booked me in to their system promising to let me know if they had a cancellation which would enable me stay for all threee nights. In the event I cut short my stay instead.

"Excellent - lovely breakfast and beautiful gardens" (108028240)

Staff made every effort to change our 10-year-olds room so that it was next to ours - eventually moving all of us to another floor to accommodate this. They were so helpful, it was wonderful.

Probably because we were moved so suddenly, our shower did not work very well and there was no soap in the room. But we were so grateful to have Thomas beside us that this did not really matter and certainly did not detract from our stay.
