Value for money we cannot fault the George. The breakfasts are the best we have ever had even in more expensive hotels. The quality of the breakfasts served piping hot[including the toast] on hot plates are a real joy. The pub is old and has not had the character removed as so many have. We really enjoyed trying the spa bath in our room.
The only downside was the nose in that particular room from the bar but the landlady warned us and it was not a problem.

We have in the course of traveling up and down the country over the past two weeks stayed in many different hotels - all about this price. This was definately the worst value for money. " (108014944)
The breakfast was fair
In 2008 it is not in order, that in a hotel room that boasts having a spa, there isn't even handsoap - never mind bubblebath or any other toiletries. The room wasn't very clean, with cobwebs in the windows and bits on the floor. It had not been noticed, that upon ordering we had requested an extra bed for our son. This was rectified upon arrival.

Breakfasts were excellent and staff friendly. We ate at the hotel both nights that we stayed, the food was very good and the prices were value for money.

We stayed in room 6 with the lovely 4 poster bed. This room had all the necessary requirements for our stay. The only thing that wasn 't very good was the television!
the only bad thing about our stay with you was that some idiot decided to play the piano at approx 4 o'clock in the morning!!

"Hayfield in general is a rip off, probably due to it`s being a hub for walkers etc. £3.40 for a pint of lager is extorionate but the George is the cheapest at £2.90. Next time I will find accomodation outside Hayfield and drive in each day for the trails, parking is only £3 per day." (107807037)
Friendly hosts, excellent food, good parking and excellent value for money.
Creaky floors and beds, the bells from the town clock next door chimes every 15 minutes all through the night and there is a lot of traffic noise outside the hotel, don`t expect a lot of undisturbed sleep.
