    "Not to bad." (108548127)

The staff is welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good. Room was quiet and big.

The bathroom has not got any hooks or towel-dryer, so I have to undress in the room and dryed my towels after use in the room. Not nice at all. There is not any list of useful telephone anywere. I had to go to reception to make a request because I had not any idea how to contact to reception.

    "The " (108662009)

    overall good value for money.

The shower plug was blocked, unhygenic was asked to use another shower but it had the same problem. Not a nice experience when you have half taken a shower and then asked to trek in a bathrobe with towel to another shower which has the same problem. They REALLY need to sort this out.

"If rooms are as small throughout the hotel I would not recommend anyone staying here - certainly for more than one night. If you do, do not rely on the staff to be helpful in organising your day in any way. My wife and I have stayed in many hotels, of varying prices, throughout the world and this has to be the very worst for value and service." (107429934)

Location good for us and room was clean.

Room incredibly small - we had to take turns when dressing as only one small space available. Staff lacked knowledge of the local area and were not helpful in any way. Ordered an early morning call that didn't happen.

"I'd consider staying here again as good value but would request a different room." (108994737)

Good location, friendly/helpful staff, good value

Our room was in the basement and seemed to be underneath the dining area. We were woken at 6:30 by the noise of chairs/tables above us. Room was quite dusty in places.

  • 4/10 Anonymous ( Young couple)

Beds were old, broken and made a noise when you turn. Blinds didn't close enough to keep light from streaming into the room the whole night. The shower head was broken. Bed frills were dirty and there were 2 cockroaches.

My television did not work on day one, when it was mended the reception was very bad and I could not get ITV at all. bed was only just acceptable for comfort and feel.

"as i said the hotel was picturesque, good position very clean and tidy." (108678460)

well kept very clean room kept clean

the bathroom was diabolical. I had to turn sideways to get past ther toilet and shower, I could not sit on the toilet without having a foot in the shower. I do not know how an over weight person would manage. prob ably not at all.I did ask for another room. the request was not passed on. I never really felt very clean as the water pressure was very low it was hard to rinse. also i only ever got one pack et of shampoo and one cake of soap. It is annoying to have to buy these things as they have to be thrown away.

    "Disillusioned." (107371918)

Online booking process - clear, trouble-free Cleanliness of hotel - looked recently decorated

Check-in - receptionist's speech was not clearly understandable. Room - windows did not close, uable to control temperature, very low water pressure and temperature in shower. Decor looked as though it was a DIY job. Lift did not work going down from 4th floor - went down the stairs. There was no signage, had to ask way to reception from man in an office. Receptionist was annoyed that we had gone through the incorrect route and denied that the lift was not working.

"IT WAS CLEAN & IN REASONABLE PRICE! JUST NOT SO OKEY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE BED." (107709588)

    GOOD BREAKFAST

I WILL NOT CHOOSE LIVING BASEMENT, BECAUSE THE WINDOW IS UNSAFE (LOCK DAMAGED) AND THE SHOWER HEAD LOCKED TOO!! OVERALL, THE BED IS NOT SO COMFORTABLE, BECAUSE IT WAS TOO THIN...JUST CAN FEEL THE STEEL INSIDE THE BED.

"Small but clean. At the price, one of the better hotels I've stayed in recently." (107961582)

Everything was clean and in working order. Room was warm and able to have a good hot shower.

Bed had big dip in the middle. Only 4 coat hangers in wardrobe - not sufficient for a week's stay with suits and work shirts. Toilet shower area a bit cramped.

"Overall very satisfied (very because of the check in) and good value for money (based on central London prices of course)." (107590914)

Receptionist was excellent, very warm and welcoming.

Shower was absolutely rubbish. It worked so no need to complain but the fixings were so tired that it couldn't hold its own weight. Made having a shower a chore rather than a pleasure.

"I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who want a short stay as a convenience. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!BIG THANK YOU TO THE STAFF!" (107394566)

I found my 1 night stay perfect because it was great value for money. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very polite and helpful.Nice relaxed atmosphere!

The only bad point was that the shower can be improved upon-their was no shelf to put your shower gel on while you have a shower! This is a necessity in my view!

    great value for money

you have to open tab and shower and let the water go for about 15 minutes in order to get hot water. I think this is enviromently unfriendly. Huge waste of clear water.

    comfy bed ..clean ...warm..Lovely breakfast.

Receptionist needs training in how to greet people and a better telephone manner when booking ie.less impatience. English people expect a level of politeness that was missing on this occasion. A shower cap and a glass in the bathroom needed. A bit noisy when tvs on in adjacent rooms....earplug supply??

"I have stayed here twice now - the double rooms are a lot better with still a tiny bathroom but PLEASE avoid the horrid single rooms!! I have to admit the location is great and so is the price but please if you stay choose a double room (suitable for one person!) NOT a single." (107301941)

Clean entrance. Clean towels. Loo roll is provided if you are small enough to sit on the loo in the tiny bathroom.

unhelpful staff, VERY small bathrooms! Found Toe nails on the floor along with a "clump" of black hair!? Bathroom floor not cleaned properly - probably due to tiny size! Hot water takes at least 5 minutes to come through the shower, sink really is too small, the large tap pretty much covers the sink!

"Stayed twice at this hotel the same week as a single traveller. First time I got a large triple room with large bathroom second time a smaller but adequate single room with tiny bathroom where they managed to squeeze in a reasonably-sized and modern shower, a toilet (you have to keep the shower room door open to use it so might be a problem for older guests) and a small washbasin all in perfect running order but on the other hand the room itself had plenty of lost space. A desk and chair would have been nice in either room. All in all a good stay with ample street parking. Easy check-in, very good continental breakfast with fresh fruit. First hotel with instant coffee at B'fst but I must admit I preferred it to many freshly-brewed coffee available at other hotels. Would use again although I prefer to stay in Bayswater for the neighbourhood and good selection of restaurants. One tip : avoid the basement rooms." (107397494)

refurbished bright and clean rooms, good breakfast with fresh fruit. discreet but efficient staff

matresses were acceptable but only just, equipment of room : could do with a desk & chair since there is plenty of room available.

"I asked for an extra blanket or duvet, but could only be provided sheets. I was told they had no extra blankets or duvets at all, and as the duvet was paper-thin this was very unsatisfactory." (107190241)

Decent clean but bit run down hotel, pleasant staff, good breakfast. Seems like make-over is in progress but hasn't reached the rooms yet.

It stands out that they cant provide something as simple as an extra blanket.

I have been travelling to London once a month for the past 9 months, I have stayed in a wide range of hotels, and this is top of my list, rooms and bathroom super clean, staff most helpful, value for money excellent I will stay here again.

minor: no card facility to pay bill, hairdryer in room?

"Overall a good central London, clean and modern B&B hotel." (107103039)

Good location, 5 mins walk from Earls Court tube, round the corner from the hospital on Cromwell Road. Recently renovated to offer clean, inoffensive, modern rooms - bit econonical with the space but quite adequate. (There are a few like this in London now, so staying in a tired, old dump isn't necessary these days if you are on a budget!) Breakfast was continetal and included almond and plain croissants, but sadly, instant coffee.

They asked for cash on arrival, without any advance warning. But they were prepared to wait three days, so I suspect they would use the card I had booked with if I hadn't given them cash. Service was ok, a bit disinterested.

"Excellent place to stay !!! Great area and excellent value for your money, considering hotels near by were very expensive. Also, the hotel is close to the Underground, shops/restaurants so that was great also." (97373696)

Stayed here 3 yrs ago, and the hotel needed "upgrading" then. The new owners have really done an outstanding job in painting, remodeling, and updating all the rooms/showers/amenities. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again. Staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were very filling. Loved having an electric water pot in my room to have water for tea/coffee which they provided. My room was immaculately cleaned each day. The bathrm facilites were very modern, as were the TV, altho the channels were limited.

When I arrived at the hotel, they did not have a copy of my internet reservation. Luckily I had a copy with me, and after a few mins they were able to rectify it. However, I was shocked to learn that they weren't authorized yet (as new owners) to take credit cards! No where on my reservation did it state that, so having to come up with the cash for a 6 night stay, really dented my travel money. I would also suggest that the hotel have some type of shelves in the bathrm/shower to hold soap, shampoo, towels etc. In the future, I hope the hotel will be authorized to take credit cards.
