  "It was a one night stay to visit relatives, it served it's purpose. The other room occupied by my husband and son was not very clean. We were all cold in the night as I think they still had the summer duvets on, although there were extra duvets and pillows to be had in another cupboard." (108762279)

  Nice cooked breakfast. Continental breakfast consisted of a choice of three boxes of cereal and white toast with tea or coffee.

  Door didn't lock, no remote control for tv, a bit shabby overall, although room clean. The same man was serving in the bar, checked us in, and showed us to our rooms. This same man took our breakfast order the next morning, and served us, and took our payment when we left. We didn't see anyone else. Therefore breakfast took ages because he was serving another couple. Hopefully they have other staff for when the Inn has more guests staying. This man who served us was very polite and attended to our needs as best he could.

  room was pleasant enough although there wasn't a remote control for the tv but it served the purpose of somewhere to stay overnight. It was also in a very nice village and close to the concert that we were attending.

  We were not made to feel particularly welcome on arrival and spoken to rather gruffly. we were asked about what time we would like breakfast but when we arrived at the allotted time there was absolutely no one around and nothing laid out for us to help ourselves. we rang the bell went away and came back but still nothing. we left without having had breakfast that had been paid for.

  "Enjoyable stay" (107632218)

  Comfortable room, pleasnnt atmposhere

  Central heating not working (boiler broken), service rather slow

  "Felt a bit conned by the picture shown. The accommodation was travelodge type only not as good. Pub had very limited range of drinks and was quite run down. It's okay for one night en-route elsewhere but under Trade DEscriptions Act I should think the photo should be changed to accurately reflect the accommodation that is available" (107858377)

  Near Airport

  The room shown on the internet has all beams and looks really olde worlde. The reality is rooms in a purpose built courtyard with no hairdryers, no hot water in the morning (only lukewarm), paint peeling on the walls and no radiator heating or any noticeable way of turning it on. There was a small fan heater.

  "Very accessible to Stanstead and accommodation was fine for the price. A beautiful and typical english pub in a lovely little village. Shame that they were a little disorganised and didn't provide the internet access that they promoted, or that the breakfast wasn't able to be taken with us. But it was clean, relatively comfortable and the sandwiches that we had that night were great." (107611013)

  We were fortunate enough to stay in the original pub building which is something like 550 years old! Nothing was even; the floor, the walls, the ceiling - and was sensational because of it. I hit my head on the top of the door to our room - but that was more my fault for not being careful. :)

  The woman typically responsible for check-ins wasn't working on the night we stayed and they were doing their best to cope without her. There was no record of our booking, but they had a room available. They didn't have the password to the internet easily accessible and they had to call someone for it. The password they got was incorrect, so we didn't have internet access. While another reviewer said that they were flexible with packaging breakfast so he could take it with him for an early flight, this was not available to us. They specifically said 'we don't do that' - so we didn't get breakfast either.

  great staff friendly and helpful not many hotels will give you a goody bag if you get up too early for breakfast these did and it was filled enough to last the day. all we had to do was get it out of the fridge in the morning

  Quiet position in old village, food ok

  Rooms in outbuildings, very basic with poor plumbing.
