    "Ok for 1 night" (108182374)

Friendliness of staff. Nice big bathroom. Free upgrade to so-called 'honeymoon suite'

'Honeymoon suite' not quite what honeymooners would wish for I think! Radiator in bathroom not working, TV not working on BBC1 and Channel 4, TV remote on its last legs, 4-poster frame unstable, dark room decor

"Would be reluctant to stay in this hotel again." (108348348)

The Langford was the only hotel in Brighton that did not have a 2 or 3 night minimum booking. Nice quiet location, away from noisy centre of Brighton.

Tacky 1970s decor. Rusty broken bathroom fittings. Seagull droppings all over balcony. Tiny tv with 4 channels. Broken trouser press. One flimsy yale lock on room door. Staff arguing with each other at breakfast.

"Nice hotel (a little bit 70's but very nice). Good room for the price and nicely situated (only about 30 mins stroll along the sea front to Brighton or about 10 minutes to Brighton centre. Big room for the money as well." (108573153)

Room was very big, four poster bed - large ensuite bathroom. Checking in, the customer service was very good, very friendly and helpful.

Night staff came off a little bit rude. Shower head could have DEFINITELY done with a clean although the rest of the room seemed clean and tidy.

"The hotel was more than adequate for our needs, the staff were very helpful, especialy when it came to explaining the parking, and ensuring that we had enough permits. " (108394426)

Booking and check-in was good. The staff were all helpful.

The hotel looked as though it was going through some bad times, in that the carpet throughout was in need of repair. The room was not the most presentable that I have stayed in. The shower was showing signs of rust. Having said all that I would not say that the hotel was dirty, just in need of some serious maintenance. The breakfast was not the hottest that I have eaten (full English), but neither was it cold. It could however have been warmer.

"Excellent staff, friendly, welcoming, couldn't do more for you. Just the sort of welcome you'd want. Tea and coffee in room, iron available, quiet location. TV ok. Easy to walk to nice cafes in Hove. about 20 mins to Brighton centre strolling. Parking easy, outside, cheap at £4 a day via hotel. Didn't stay for any meals. Hotel gave us a very quiet room as requested." (107637532)

Excellent staff, friendly, welcoming, couldn't do more for you. Just the sort of welcome you'd want.

Bathroom shower fixture broken: took a bath instead, very good, fast fill. Mildew in bathroom. Hotel is dated but adequate in decor. It needs a makeover, but the staff made up for any shortfall.

"Ok within price range. I'd prefer somewhere else to be honest. It was all a bit tired and old fashioned. But for the money - adequate." (107397082)

Room did seem to smell of smoking. Do you allow smoking in rooms? There seemed to be an ashtray. Internet provision a bit hit and miss. Seemed to be non-existent in the evenings. Band width problems?

"Location good, near a regular bus service. Friendly and helpful staff.Probably not suitable for someone with a mobility problem/or elderly." (107934506)

Staff friendly and helpful. Lounge area attractive.

I was visiting with my elderly mother who had a bad back - getting down the steep stairs for breakfast was difficult for her. The shower didn't work properly and kept on falling off the wall. My mother nearly slipped in the bath - no handrails. The bedrooms are a bit shabby but very clean. Noise on saturday night went on until about 3.30 a.m. so neither of us got a lot of sleep.

Clean; cheerful receptionist; good quality bread for breakfast toast.

Threadbare carpets; peeling wallpaper; old fittings; uninviting lounge.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Hotel was quiet & in a good location. Nice Breakfast.

Beds were extremely uncomfortable - mattress felt like a sheet of cardboard on an orange crate! Furniture was broken in places and room decor shabby and VERY dusty.

"Great to stay for weekend with friends not a romantic gettaway" (107779203)

Staff were friendly, rooms were clean, one of the bathrooms in adouble was very small though.

Unfortunately the moment you enter the hotel there is a strong smell of cooking, especially oil! The breakfasts were a great dissapointment for price.. continental over ripe bananas overdone croissants small choice for £7.50 and cooked very dry

Not at all like pictures on the internet and the hotel was very tired and well worn, also did not like being able to see into the kitchen whilst eating breakfast and sound traveled badly to the point you could hear the people in the surrounding rooms stirring thier tea!!!!

Great, friendly and helpful staff, clean, good-sized room, excellent bar and restaurant.

TV in room could only get 3 channels, so if that's all we have to complain about not bad, eh?!

"My mother and aunt are both in their seventies, they did ask if they could be moved to another room but there was no availability my mother quote to me on her return "It was a lovely weekend, we did laught it was like Fawlty Towers" " (97959770)

By using the internet was a great way of booking this hotel The Langford was very clean and just minutes away from the beach

I booked the hotel as a birthday treat for my mother. Hotel was under refurnishment. Room was on the six floor (top) Lift only went the second floor No porters Windows never opened - no air conditioner Was given a fan The lift only went to the second floor and their were no porters to carry their luggage. The weather was very hot and their window would not open, they were given a fan but this was very loud throughout the night. The television had buttons missing. My mother did asked if they could be moved but their was no other rooms available
