Excellent location, clean hotel and friendly, helpful staff.
Quite expensive - buffet breakfast cold and poor choice. No choice of tea or fresh milk in room. Had to pay £10 for hotel car park.

excellent location, v impressive public areas, lovely clean spacious room
window looked onto a brick wall - bit disappointing for a £160 room, made it v dark. Not advised charge for using hotel car park.

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"Very good location." (107598891)
The room was clean and comfortable. I had requested a quiet room and although our hotel was in the main pedistrian area it was quiet.
The hotel tried to charge us for two breakfasts which we did not have. When I pointed this out to the receptionist she informed me that the charge was added as a matter of course unless the client informed them otherwise. The post code took us to the rear of the hotel and we had to ask for directions to reach the front.

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"Nice hotel, but too expensive for me, especially on the weekends. I'm glad my funding covered the hotel cost." (107360665)
Very comfortable and clean room. Good location, as well.
Hostels that cost a small fraction of this hotel to stay in offer free Wi-Fi, but they don't. Why not?

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"The fire alarm was raised at approx. 6.30 am and when we returned in to the hotel we were told it was possibly some person having a shower! How could that have set the fire alarm off?" (107757281)
Although we had our breakfast at 7.30 a.m. the food was not very warm. Also the staff we very slow in providing tea, coffee, and also removing the used dishes.

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"Would certainly stay there again as the hotel was centrally located and ideal for exploring Cardiff." (107471333)
Had a problem with room after informing reception we were upgraded to an executive suite at no extra charge.
The breakfast service was poor on only one morning was the cold cuts selection available. The staff serving did not seem interested in their jobs this seemed to improve on the final morning.

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"This was a gift for my parent and sister but they ended up paying for the room. I assumed that the payment would be taken from my credit card. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience but were disappointed that they had to pay (they thought that I had already paid for it)." (107714601)

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"Satisfactory after upgrade." (107632574)
Very attentive staff who were keen to please and remedy faults. They remembered my name and always made me feel welcome.
First room - toilet pan filled with faeces giving concern about general hygiene standards. Duty staff were very apologetic and assisted with a very smooth transition to an upgraded room. This room was adequate although very dusty, particularly on display shelving and dust balls present in corners in bathroom.

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"Genrally good though breakfast was a little hectic" (107823984)
Centrally located, clean and newly refurbished.
Some badly positioned bathroom accessories and lack of coat hooks on door but these were minor.

Staff and service very good and attentive. Location great for shopping.
Claustrophobic room as window opened onto a brick wall- no other window. Grim. Not enough hanging room for clothing. Room may be ideal for a business market but would not recommend the hotel for pleasure break. I wanted to get away from a desk not find one in my hotel room.

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"Hotel needs its own gym." (107729403)
Very polite and attentive service
The bathroom did not have a towel rail. The hot water was not available from the sink tap (no matter which direction it was pushed and even after waiting several minutes). Although apparently newly refurbished, the bathroom grouting had not been finished. The bathroom floor tiles were always wet with puddles of water, which appear to have no place to drain away or evaporate. All of these points should have been picked up in advance by the cleaning staff as a quality check rather than expecting guests to report them as issues.

The Parc Hotel, by Thistle, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings" EXCELLANT. tHE HOTEL PROVIDED EVERYTHING THAT I ASKED FOR WHEN BOOKING LIKE A QUIET ROOM WITH A BATH RATHER THAN JUST A SHOWER." (107398599)
CLEAN AND MODERN BUT STILL RETAINING SOME ORIGINAL VICTORIAN THINGS LIKE THE STAIRCASE
MINOR THINGS LIKE NOT ENOUGH TOILETRIES AND TEABAGS, NO HAIRDRYER IN THE ROOM (ONE WAS BROUGHT UP TO US) AND A LAMP THAT DID NOT WORK.
