Comfy clean room and friendly staff
The food in the restaurant was dissapointing considering the price paid - quality and quantity.

loved the swimming pool. Excellant gym facilities included in price. Clean, good size room
bed too short and uncomfortable, very creaky! Shower curtain a bit mouldy at bottom. Cooked breakfast expensive.

The Nightingale Hotel & Leisure Club, Swindon - Reviews & Ratings"Hotel appeared near empty yet someone was painting the skirting boards directly outside the room allocated and the fumes were pretty bad!!! Other than that the hotel facilities and staff were great and the food was fantastic...Will be even better when they finish the decorating!!" (97911465)
The room was booked as a birthday gift for my brother Location, facilities and staff were very good. Food was excellent.
The room had a very strong smell of paint fumes due to maintenance work being carried out directly outside the room. This left my sister in law feeling unwell the next day.Bit dissapointed as I was told that the hotel seemed fairly empty.

Various lights not working in corridor, difficult to find from main road, Card system would not work even though my card had been working all weekend so had to pay cash.

Hotel was excellent value for money, food was nice, and leisure club was well kept. Ample Parking. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room needed a little bit of attention, but not enough to affect my stay. Corridors were in process of being decorated so this may be being addressed.

The Nightingale Hotel & Leisure Club, Swindon - Reviews & Ratings"Noisy room, hard beds, very little sleep." (107299481)
Good location, when I did complain staff where helpful
Noise in walls around room - said to be pipes from bathroom extractors. They moved me for the night but they 'already' knew about the problem so why not get the issue sorted.

The Nightingale Hotel & Leisure Club, Swindon - Reviews & Ratings"Overall I did not feel that my requirements were translate well from booking via the website to what I actually received upon arrival at the hotel." (107102219)
Good food Friendly and helpful staff Excellent leisure facilities
Room booking detail was incorrect - booked 2 nights, the hotel only had me down as 1 night. Booked a superior room, yet found that the room quality was very basic and overlooked a wall, not superior quality! Booking advised me that my price was inclusive of B&B, but the hotel denied this and charged me seperately for breakfast.

The Nightingale Hotel & Leisure Club, Swindon - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel smelt bad, was somewhat grubby and was of a generally poor quality. Not a place I will recommend, especially given the price compared to other local hotels." (108077231)
The staff were all friendly and efficient.
The corridors of the hotel all smelled damp and musty. The bed was dreadfully uncomfortable. The shower pressure was so low one had to run around to get wet!

It wasn't a dislike as such - rather a disappointment that i could not listen to the radio as none was available in the room or via the TV

Pool, Gym, Good food reasonable priced. Not as overpriced as MANY other Hotels. Something not that often in the UK Hotel market good value for your money
Sinkholes etc. should be cleaned better.

The Nightingale Hotel & Leisure Club, Swindon - Reviews & Ratings"Food was well over priced and our bar bill included an extra beer and desert which we did not order I would rate it as 5/10" (97500455)
the rooms were well presented
The TV was broken in our room. When I requested a new TV it was dealt with within an hour which i would consider to be acceptable. However the broken tv was not taken away. It seemed the solution was to just put a new tv next to the old one and that would be good enough

The room was possibly a smoking room before the recent changes in the law, and had a distinct nicotine/tobacco smell.

The Nightingale Hotel & Leisure Club, Swindon - Reviews & Ratings"That Building works were being carried out?" (99728486)
Good facilities
My stay at the hotel was disapointing due to your refurbishment work. I am also in the industry of Hotel refurbishment and by no means should the customer walk through a building site to get to the room (Room 31) I struggled passed electrical/building materials, wheelbarrows, furniture that was blocking the corridors, the rooms smelt of dust from the works etc. This wing of the Hotel should have been completely blocked off. If my company let that room to public, i would not be in business for long. However, I would stay at the Hotel again if and when in the area knowing all works were completed.

Breakfast in room 5am in the morning. Restaurant and gym/leisure club facilities.
Ground floor stay, I like to sleep with the window open but didn't like to do that as the room is on the ground floor. The restaurant/bar area was very warm.

The accommodation was good and in good order. The shower was the best pressure shower that I have experienced in a hotel in a very long time. The Fitness Centre was in excellent condition, I believe that it has just recently been refurbished.

The Nightingale Hotel & Leisure Club, Swindon - Reviews & Ratings"I would like to raise a complaint about my stay at your hotel on Friday night. As you can see on my booking notice below I booked a superior double room, the room we were given was by no means a superior room, when asking at reception in the morning what type of room we were given I was advised it was a standard room but it was one of your new ones. I didn't book one of your new rooms. The second part of my complaint is that when booking a double room for two adults I would expect to have two sets of towels in the room. I was second in the shower and getting out found tat I had no choice but to use the same towel as the person in first. When raising this at reception I was asked why I didn't come to reception, well because I had no clothes on and was wet, I was then told that the second set of towels were in the drawer! Why? How many people would look in the drawer? None. As part of my job I stay at numerous hotels on a weekly basis, If I book a double room with single occupancy the extra towels are removed from the bathroom and placed on the shelves next to the wardrobe, just incase they are needed. You have these very same shelves so why are they put into a drawer with no notice to say so?? As this was a double room with multiple occupancy I wouldn't expect to have to search for what should be provided. Please can you arrange to refund my card for the miss-sale of the room, and please for the sake of future customers arrange to have the towels placed on the shelves outside the bathroom and not in the drawer, if you are staying for one or two nights you do not use the drawers anyway unless you are looking for the bible." (97629428)
Room was clean
Have logged a complaint! Room not the level of room booked Only one set of towels

Swimming Pool
I didn't get served for dinner and left and went else where; the bath was dirty and the shower dripped in the bath quite loud; and the early morning phone call was not programmed properly and rang a full ring and half a ring on the hour and kept me awake.

The Nightingale Hotel & Leisure Club, Swindon - Reviews & Ratings"With all the sports equipment available, it would have been a great place to stay, but we were only there one night. We spent most of our evening in our room working. It could have been a great place to stay, had the above mentioned problems been corrected. The staff members were friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our visit a pleasant one." (99320175)
The room was nice and roomy, the breakfast was good, and the surroundings was quiet and peaceful.
The bath tub drain was blocked, and we stood in ankle deep bath water from the shower. The mixer shower leaked and the water leaking was extremely hot. We only had one bath towel and the soap bottle in the shower was empty. The heater in the room was hanging at an angle and needed attention.

The staff were helpful and polite, the lesuire club was very good(we only used the pool) and this had everything you could have wanted. Was a bit suprised that the bar closed at eleven even for residents." (99331353)
Overall the staff were frendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The lesuire club was also excellent.
The only thing letting the hotel down a little was the overall decor could do with updating but this seems to have been started. The public areas bar etc were good.

Use of pool, gym and breakfast included
lack of toiletries such as shampoo etc, not letting my 13 year old swim after 7 or before 9am. She is a strong swimmer and wanted to do lengths with me. THere should be some distinction between young children who want to play and those who want to do lengths - maybe 12 onwards? Newspapers disappearing at breakfast time was also a nice touch that is no longer there. Poor choices of evening meal in pub section which we had to use as there was a large coach booking which meant we couldn't eat until 8.30- just a little too late

Any special deal for inclusion of the children would be good too." (3305193762)
