Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"Very good and would stay there again." (108350865)
Very helpful staff, room clean and very suitable for purpose. Nice grounds and hotel and grounds well-maintained. Bed really comfortable. In a nice rural location.
Could hear noise from corridor and room above but it was not excessively loud.

Good value for money
No hot water for showers at any time of day. I made the booking on line, but on arrival at hotel the booking was in my guest's name, causing confusion at check in. the information from on line booking was confusing.

Room was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful
The only slight fault I would state is that we thought breakfast was expensive. For the three of us it would have been over £30. We decided to go into York for breakfast and had a nice breakfast for under £20. A lot of hotels we stay at will do a deal for breakfast and make it slightly cheaper. other than this our stay was excellent.

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"Very pleasant, there was a wedding party in when we visited so did not visit restaurant or bar. Lovely room, nice staff and generally well decorated hotel." (107698673)
Nice clean room, bathroom extremely well decorated. Professional staff, especially Ann on reception.
Room a little cold when we arrived, but soon fixed with radiators turned up!! No nets at window which was a little off putting as we overlooked the kitchen.

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"We had a great stay at the hotel and enjoyed a relaxed pint or three in the bar before heading to the restaurant for dinner. This was an exceptional meal and we will definitely be coming back soon." (107303327)
We had a meal in the hotel restaurant and it was first class value for money. The pigeon was delicious and the steak was second to none. All the staff at the hotel were very very pleasant and welcoming especially the bar man.

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"good value hotel with great quiet location and only 20 minutes to york centre. I don't know if the book price of " (107500121)
great quiet location, very peaceful, clean and tidy rooms with good large bathroom, heating in rooms controlable staff excellent. Rooms laid out so that no noise between rooms-bed is against next doors bathroom and vice versa - tv is on middle wall that cannot disturb neighbour - very impressed with this design.
bit of noise on sat night - outside and little bit in corridor-perfectly normal though. Main hotel block is a new build plain 3 story extension to old building which you don't see in pictures - not a problem but just not what pictures show!

Overall a pleasant hotel & will stay again
The hotel really needs to serve toast to the table, rather than use a toasting machine that takes ages to do the job - especially when people are having to queue to use it !!

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"Impressive. Hope we can make it again - when there isn't a wedding!" (107183365)
Very comfortable. Good facilities and staff always helpful. Nice setting.
None, really. We had the misfortune (for us!) to be there when there was a wedding reception and could not spend time in the bar area at night-time as it was all taken up by the wedding party.

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"Generally good hotel with attentive staff. Could not fault cleanliness and facilities, but attention to small details would improve the experience. Good location for touring the area (20 minutes from York centre) and attractive villages/countryside within a short drive. " (107268005)
Clean, functional hotel with helpful staff. Limited menus but meals well presented and tasty.
Little annoying things: no hook provided on bathroom door; breakfast/dining table missing items (salt, butter, cutlery) on more than one occasion; poor signs on approach to hotel (poorly illuminated and colours make them difficult to read); information in room of facilities/services is scant; inadequate quantity of tea/coffee/milk in room - should be at least two of each item in a double room!

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"Apart from the disturbance during the night, I found my stay an enjoyable one at a hotel with lovely grounds, with nice rooms and clean comfortable bedding." (107139993)
Original hotel and grounds very pleasing to the eye.
There was a problem with some of the guests causing a lot of noise in the early hours of the morning (possibly guests at a wedding reception). A woman was knocking very loudly on another door in the hotel and shouting very loudly, asking to be let in - this went on for at least an hour. A member of staff eventually arrived trying to calm things down and to sort the situation out. It disturbed my sleeep and my colleague's sleep during the early Sunday morning. My colleague was staying in another room. Apart from that, everything at the hotel was good.

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"A very good stay, overall." (97633761)
Excellent location. Quiet, neat, comfortable hotel with a good restaurant. Staff very friendly. Hotel had a good atmosphere and lots of guests yet was quiet when returning to rooms. No echoey corridor noise.
Restaurant menu very good but slightly limited with only four main courses. Full breakfast didn't start until 8am on Sunday, which was too late for us. Television needed a degree in electronics to work the remote.

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"The overall experience from booking to stay was pleasant and enjoyable. We would stay at the hotel again. Parking was a bit of a problem however, the site would benefit from more spaces adjacent the hotel. There appeared to be an overspill car park to the right of the entrance road, but it wasn't signposted, it was remote from the hotel and it didn't feel secure." (97561646)
Clean, quiet, nice breakfast, not too far from York
Parking was a slight problem, you need more spaces.

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"the hotel and grounds are lovely - we just found the staff a little poor in their sevice. it was obvious that the waiters didnt know the correct table numbers because everybody kept getting everyones elses drinks or meals served to them. the food was excellent in the restaurant though. the service in the bar area was poor as well, with only one person seving, who clearly didnt have bar knowledge. but other than that the place was really nice." Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"Better directions Wish I'd known about you before keep your prices competive. We would use you again if your prices dont rise to high as we have to have two rooms it gets too expensive to have a night away." (97650899)
The rooms were small but clean and comfortable. The items in the rooms were good but the bed was divine!
The directions to hotel were bad as is was dark on not much light around.

Overall good state of cleanliness and attractive foyer/exterior
Dissapoiantingly low level of those little extras you enjoy seeing in an hotel room. No minibar, hairdryer, trouser press, 'luxury' toiletries etc.

Burn Hall Hotel, Tollerton - Reviews & Ratings"We all expected an old-fashioned elegant country house hotel and ended up in a modern and cheaply decorated factory-type hotel with poor service ( as we arrived after a long journey from the west country, we asked if we could have some tea and it took more than half an hour for it to arrive, after some prompting from me ) and badly furnished bedrooms with a deep open hanging wardrobe in middle of passage, leaving us little room to pass and we inevitably hurt ourselves against it, badly fitted door locks. It was obvious to us that this hotel had been modernised in the cheapest possible way and was more suited for the non-discerning." (97482277)
the bathroom was adequate
the lack of elegance, style, and dedication of the staff.
