water tank above ceiling noisy to the point of infuriating constant dripping - water running from 6am probably due to showers etc from other rooms

"This is a no-frills establishment but represents reasonable value for money, especially as Fort William was busy due to the Scottish Six Day Trials which were ongoing. This establishment does what it says on the tin, make sure you know what (limited) services are on offer." (97407825)

Polite, efficient reception staff. A powerful shower, the first on our 8 day trip!

Our double and family rooms were rather cramped.

"Really enjoyed the hotel - it isn't a fancy 4 or 5 star job, but if you're content with a cosy, clean and comfortable room, where it's within a 2 minute walk of the main part of the town, plus only 10 mins to Glen Nevis, then this is for you - would definately stay again." (97662458)

Great location, clean and comfortable room, good facilities - price!

CENTRAL LOCATION, EXCELLENT ATTENTION FROM THE STAFF>

TV MOUNTED ON THE WALL,EASY TO BUMP INTO IN THE DARK.

  • 3/10 Anonymous ( Mature couple)

The hotel was in the centre of Fort William so we could walk everywhere. There were parking facilities which we were allowed to use throughout the next day whilst we were on the Jacobite Steam Train.

It was so basic that we thought we were in a hostel. Particularly as our room had two single and two sets of bunk beds.

  • 7/10 Anonymous ( Mature couple)

    functional and clean.

"This hotel seems more like a hostel than a hotel. DO NOT EVER stay in a dormer room with bunk beds if there is more than 1 person. Good place to stop over if heading up through Loch Ness area if one just needs a bed and a toilet..." (99203599)

nothing- we had to take a dormer with bunk beds in order to stay with our party.

no hot water, cramped rooms, over priced for quality of accomodation

"I had booked x2 rooms and as the two older children with me were 12 & 13 respectively had booked them as x2 adults, when we arrived however, found not only was there room not only not in the same corridor but was on a different floor.(the opportunity to specify any individual requirements was not prevelant on the booking form)This however was able to be sorted out on this occasion. The T.V.in both rooms had extremely poor reception and indeed had to tune these in myself, bulbs were blown in both rooms and the kettle in my room had to be switched off at the main as the element was constantly heating. What amenities that are available to residents (cooking facilities, day room etc)were not highlighted and we were not aware until our second day of these.I feel that this complex is certainly not geared up to cater for neither children nor families and should either specify this or improve the amenities to accomodate better their needs. Whilst these gripes are very particular to my own situation and found the accomodation fair would not recommend to people with children" (99816031)

COMPETATIVE PRICE, CONSTANT STAFF PRESENCE, CLEANLINESS & ITS CENTRAL LOCATION.

POOR IN-ROOM AMENITIES & LACK OF FACILITIES

"This hotel is ideal for backpackers, walkers or people on a low budget as the kitchen and dining room were ideal for anyone wishing to cater for themselves.Rooms were cosy but not large. For us it was fine for one night only as we normally prefer a higher standard of hotel but as Fort William is so lovely all the higher priced hotels were fully booked." (3305095311)

    Very Central

    Small room

"For a reasonable price we got exactly what the advert stated: pleasant accommodation of a very good standard, close to town centre. All mod cons in excellent condition." (3305124812)

Your advert gives a very true description of hotel, was very close to town centre and had a restaurant on its doorstep

I could not fault accommodation. It was a very fair price for what we got.

"Good inexpensive lodging. Hallways were narrow, could hear noise from hallways in the room. Would have liked to know that the Lodge is also advertised as a hostel." (3304923318)

Very central, not difficult to locate, good parking.

Small lamp only on one side of the bed, making reading difficult; huge group of students staying at lodge.

"On arrival check-in was quick and pain free and for my needs (climbing nevis) the location was great.Bank street does have parking under the building but this is small and tight with building support pillars running through, there is large parking straight over the road but it is pay n display and a friend of mine has recieved a ticket there so be warned.facilities are good and everything you need is there including a kitchen with most utensils needed to prepare a meal.through the night this is where i was let down, early on the main conversation was drawn to a really loud loft space believed to be the water heater,in fareness this didn't turn out to be too much of a problem what did was the frequent trains that sounded like they were setting off from the basement. All in all it was satisfactory but i wouldn't go any further than that, but each to their own the rooms were clean with everthing you need, the staff were polite and the pay n display is free saturday night to monday morning.i will look elsewhere in the future but i wouldn't be upset if i find myself back at the bankstreet lodge." (3304644374)

Everything was adequate, just what yuo would expect delivering no unpleasant suprises

it was adequate, just what you'd expect, does no one try to go that extra mile any more?

Nice view of Fort William. Very central Location

    Traffic outside a bit noisy.
