Very close to the Metro Station (4 min walk) and within walking distance of Bastille. The room had one of the best showers I've experienced in a hotel for a long time.
Rooms were fairly hot, and you had to open the window for fresh air, but this made the room very noisy and hard to sleep in.

excellent location, market, transports, cheap, no fuss for booking or checking in & out, staff very tolerant
i prefer twin beds...and water in the mini-bar

location: market, restaurants, near centre of Paris by walking, easy to book, easy to pay, easy to reach, transports near, correct welcome, no restrictions...
room: outside windows a pair of shoes (lost?), an extra-bed (useless) in the middle of the room...

Aux Trois Portes, Paris - Reviews & Ratings"You can't find much better value for a hotel in Paris, the location is very convenient near metro stops, park, mini markets, lots of restaurants, and also nice walks along the quay. However, the hotel is a bit dingy, the walls are thin and you can hear the other guests. Also the street traffic is rather noisy. Perfect for budget travelers, but anyone hoping for quaint Parisian might want to look elsewhere." (97064748)

The location was excellent for METRO stations (3); Bus line no. 69 was literally outside the door....the outdoor market on Thursday and Sunday mornings was 2 minutes away!!! Very near eating places and restaurants and literally on bus route no.69!!
The street noise and cigarette smoke fron downstairs and no elevator are negatives but what the heck???

They treated our children with respect. The hotel was within short walking distance of the Metro, which was wonderful. The only thing about the hotel that we didn't like was the traffic noise from outside. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget." (3304437201)

A small, clean and very friendly family hotel in a superb part of Paris.A nice bar with view to Bd Richard Lenoir where we had our breakfast.The staff was very helpful and friendly.Both my daughter and I will be back.
I do hope the problem with twin rooms will be solved.A small grand lit is not suitable for friends trvelling together and in this case a mother and grown up daughter. If I bring my tall norwegian husband next time a grand lit bed will be to small for us.

Also the toilet and bath was ok, and actually quite spacious compared to what we have seen elsewhere. A big drawback was a lot of noise at night from the street, which is the reason we would not recommend this hotel to others. Also it would have been nice to be able to order coffe in the afternoon and evening." (2673137)
Fair price. Clean, but plain room.
There was a lot of noise from the street at night. And you really need to have the window open when there is no air condition.

réception 24h/24h et le fait de devoir libérer les chambres, pour midi et non 10h, permet une certaine liberté dans le choix de ses activités
amélioration au niveau décor, une rénovation serait la bienvenue surtout à propos du bruit, de l'isolation sonore, mais salles de bain ok.

"Got what I expected a small double room although cleaned everyday and a great hot powerful shower, place is a bit grubby throughout but helpful and friendly staff and a good contenental breakfast for 7 euros which is incredibly cheap for Paris. The Paris Hilton it ain't, but a great base for sightseeing on one of the main metro lines." (108152953)
Friendly staff, centre access to bars, cafes, resturants and the Bastille. 2 min walk to Metro. Superb Sunday market outside. Good breakfast for the price.
Rooms tired and dated, poorly lit staircase, filthy stair carpet.
