"Good, although next time would book a room on a lower floor!" (108445279)

Hotel is central to all amenities, but far enough away so as not to be disturbed, friendly staff, loved the double shower.

Too many stairs to the top floor, not suitable for disabled guests.

    "good" (107870493)

Communal areas clean, tidy and themed, large guest suite with plenty of room for clothing etc.

Bathroom a bit outdated and only had hand held shower attachment, fridge did not appear to work. Room overlooked side street which was NOISY to 4am! Not hotel's fault and from what i could see it would have been the same from most hotels so won't hold it against them.

"Just lovely, central, relaxing and perfect" (107464869)

The welcome was fantastic. The rooms were all bespoke and themed - just lovely.

I have no negatives about this hotel at all. It has no parking but just opposite there is a NCP underground car park - very close and very easy.

"Very pleasant, would stay there again." (107583150)

Our room was charming and full of character,as were the staff,a refreshing and welcome change from the leather and chrome, impersonal hotel chains.

No bad points as such, just personal preferance of a duvet, over blankets. However saying that we were plenty warm enough.

"It was overall a really good experience and I would stay again, I think unfortunately we were there on an unlucky night as the wrong'uns were above us..." (107438845)

The room was beautiful and really clean, the hotel was in a really nice area and not too far from everything. The jacuzzi was good and the manager was really friendly and accommodating.

The breakfast wasn't as nice as it could have been, those beans definitely weren't Heinz and where were the hash browns and tomatoes?! Unfortunately there were a couple of ruffians staying in the room above us who kept us awake for the entire night! They really shouldn't be allowed to stay again!

    "Absolutely superb" (107194006)

Everything about our break was first class and made much more so by the lovely and welcoming hotel and staff. Service was excellent, breakfasts were good. Lovely ambience and atmosphere. Special thank-you to Mark for organising wine and flowers as requested for our wedding anniversary. Can't wait to return.

In fairness, the hotel changed owners at the beginning of the year and in some places it does need a little work undertaking, but Tom the owner is well aware of this and re-painting of the outside was underway as we left and many other things planned.

The owners were lovely and really made us feel really welcome and comfortable - when we didn't get out of our room in time for the chamber maid, they still tidied up for us! Breakfast was as good as promised, and they were very flexible - you have your own key and come and go as you please.

The only thing was, I was a bit unclear in booking and thought I'd got the room pictured on the site, but when we got there, we were in another (nicer, with a sea view). It was my fault, I hadn't specified, and they did their best to please.

"Our stay was really lovely, the staff were great, the hotel spotlessly clean, comfy bed in a lovely warm room but not stuffy. We stayed in the Chinois Room which was quite exquisite, a great view of the square and the sea. Location was great too, easy walking distance to the centre of Brighton. Breakfast was at a reasonable time not the crack of dawn and also a very reasonable check out time. We will be returning to try out the other rooms and will definately recommend The Royal Pavillion House Hotel to friends, even though we live not far from here ourselves!! It really was a breath of fresh air and renewed our faith in privately owned hotels after reading some of the reviews of others, we were nearly all set to go to a 'chain' hotel. Glad we didn't. Many thanks to our Host." (97753694)

The Hotel did all that it said it would on the packet and more! The staff were very polite and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is very clean and also very unique.

Nothing really. Bath was a wee bit small but had to be due to the nature of the building. Still nice to have a jacuzzi, with, I might add, hot water late at night!

"On arrival, parking was difficult but we expected this from reading other reviews. I think next time we would travel by train as the station is not far from the hotel. All staff were very friendly. The room was a bit of a surprise as the website we booked it through did not show a picture but it had everything we expected (and the Molton Brown toiletries were very nice)." (97019062)

    unusual and cosy

it's a small point but the drapes around the four poster bed were rather dusty which was a bit off putting

    Style and cleanliness

    Did not cater for vegatarians

"Very pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail in rooms. usually staying in basic hotels this was quite a change to what we're used to. everything worked, was clean and the facilities in the room were excellent. the staff were incredibly friendly and room service was available. best hotel yet, would definitely stay again." attention to detail in rooms; themes in rooms; spa bath; crisps, tea/coffee making facilities and sweets in rooms; customer service; friendliness of staff; dvd player; ironing board and iron in room; location

"Overall the hotel exceeded our expectations and we would definitely return. Our room was quiet as it was on the top floor but the slight downside was the number of steps to reach it." (97894781)

The themed rooms were different and interesting, the staff and owner were friendly, polite, helpful and efficient. The location is excellent. There were nice touches to make you feel welcome in the room and the breakfast was cooked to order and very nice.

Some of the furniture and floor coverings are a little the worse for wear.

"Stayed one night in Brighton to visit relatives. Hotel was a family run hotel. Each room has a theme running through it - ours was a Chinese Garden theme with handpainted scenery on all walls, jacuzzi bath with showerhead, tea and coffee, mini bar, free snacks, tv, dvd and didgi box. Bed was comfortable and room clean. Price included breakfast - juices, cereals and hot breakfast - we had bacon, eggs, tomatoe, hash brown, baked beans, fried bread - very very yummy with a hot pot of tea. Staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags in reception and go out. Checked in about 2ish. Checkout time was midday and again we were able to leave our bags at reception as we had a few things to do in Brighton. They arranged for a taxi to take us to the station." (97086198)

Room was fantastic, excellent service and friendly staff

Only fault would be no lift in the hotel

"The hotel was looking slightly tired but bearing the owners had only moved in two days previous I am sure this will soon be rectified. One slight issue, the breakfast times need to be earlier for business travellers as I was informed it didn't start until 08:30" (97423041)

The actual hotel was very interesting and individual. I like the idea of the all the rooms being seperately themed

"I would rate this a 1 star and not 4 star. NO LIFT and the steep stairs need highlighting, as this is very important. (If you did I didnt see it so you will need to address this). There was only a bath and no shower. No evening meals available. I am a female and travelling on own so I did not want to wander out at night. This is very important for lone travellers. In future I will stay at the larger hotel chains." (97003554)

The room was nice and the staff were so pleasant and helpful.

ON arrival, the outside was not inviting and it got worsre when entered the main hall and then in the reception - come dining area. This was awful and I nearly left immediately. The climb up four flights of stairs was shattering especially carrying luggage etc and narrow stairs. Because of this,, I would not stay again.

"Stayed in the cheapest room type, which was one of the attic rooms on the 4th floor. Very spacious room and was worth the climb to the 4th floor. Amenities in the room were good...Molton Brown toiletries, complimentary tea & coffee, mints & crisps in the room. The breakfast was well worth getting up for with a good choice of food - yummy Eggs Benedict as well as a good old British fry up! Friendly staff and handy parking in the NCP parking opposite the hotel." (99655819)

    Great location. Gorgeous breakfast.

Shower door didn't close properly. But really nothing to complain about at all
