"perhaps we had an advantage of knowing the area from previous visits and so we had no surprises. The underground network is very handy, though not ideal to travel from/to Heathrow. Taxi is best option which we took for our return trip. Queensway itself may not be the most cordial of high streets yet had all comforts from pharmacy to late opening tesco for our late nite bite and other needs." (99755655)

reliability, no queues for breakfast, adequate breakfast to start off a new day, staff all knowing what to do and having practical answers to all querries, good feeling when returning from a long london day, all facilities working effectively even if without frills. Our best hotel experience in 25 years of annual visits to the capital

not much really, poor TV channel choice perhaps and need to organise space well as the room is comfortable for only one large piece of luggage, but nothing compared with some rooms in other hotels we experienced in the past.

"Hotel was efficiently run , room generally comfortable , staff were very obliging and pleasant . Location was great - parking absolute nightmare - We were'nt told about having to pay for english breakfast-tut tut ." (99897972)

Room well furnished , comfortable bed , good bathroom, nice views over gardens

No heating mid october - noise between floors was annoying above us we had London's answer to Nelly the elephant pacing the room for an hour - found it difficult to sleep because of this

close to public transportation (Bayswater tube station and bus stop but not on main road, therefore not too much traffic. clean, midsized room. friendly staff.

the two power plugs in the room did not work. little storage room for towels and belongings in bathroom.

"Overall, we felt that this was very good value, considering the cost of hotels in London. It was comfortable, clean and quiet. Even though it was come distance from Heathrow, we had no trouble getting there on the underground so it proved to be a good choice for an overnight transit stay. There were lots of reasonably-priced restaurants in the area. Using public transportation we were able to spend a couple of hours sight-seeing in the Buckingham Palace area in the morning before boarding our afternoon flight." (3304184861)

We loved the location. The hotel was quiet and clean. The bath towels were fabulous. We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast.

We had trouble finding the hotel when we came out of the Bayswater Underground station. Granted, we were jet-lagged and had been up for 36 hours so we weren't thinking very clearly. The directions should clearly state that you go left from the Bayswater Station and then turn left at the traffic lights.

"Good Area, Clean Rooms, quite small but cosy. Easy to get to from Tube. Staff helpful enough. On the downside: No Vending machines in hotel, so you have to drink tap water unless the bar is open. Very noisey floor boards, the people above were walking about til 2 in the morning and it was enought to keep me awake, saying that the building is from the Victorian era. Would stay again with ear plugs in case of above problem, but I'm sure it was a one off. Would recommend - just because of cost, nice clean compact rooms, and location. However would like to also add, no air con, and even in April we had to have the windows open full, which still did not cool the room that much, maybe not one for the summer months?" (3304599445)

Just the look and feel of the rooms dont really appeal to me.

"The location is excellent. Very safe for a woman traveller. The rooms are in good decorative order. It is clean and warm (I stayed on a cold day). Staff were pleasant but not intrusive. It is very good value for money. Breakfast was nice with not just Full English Breakfast but also arrange of other cooked options at lower prices. Absence of arestaurant for dinner was not a problem as a huge range of restaurants are available very near by." (3304159965)

good value for money. Pleasantly furnished. very convenient location. friendly staff.

Good breakfast area, but no smiling servants.

The rooms are all to small.

The room itself is great: clean and has everything you'll need, the bathroom is very nice and up-to-date, breakfast is good (lots to choose from) and the hotel location is fabulous: close to shopping mall and tube station

"I really enjoyed the neighbourhood. Interesting restaurants of all kinds including Moroccon, Russian, Japanese, French and only a short walk from Kensington Park, but away from the crowds on a side street. I would definitely stay again." (1969615)

Room was newly renovated and pleasant with a view over a small park.

Many rooms along the hallway were under renovation which wasn't too bad, but smelled of paint. Slightly noisy at night, but that's London.

Location , nice decor, service excellent and maid service thorough, cheaper than surrounding B & B's for what you get.

My mattress was very hard and uncomfortable and the eiderdown was very heavy ; if you stripped it off you froze with just one thin blanket.

"Stayed before at this hotel and as before hotel and staff normally great but had a small fire on Thursday morning with no continuous alarm, we were eating breakfast only to have the fireman checking the hotel clear us out of the dining room - as it was a major electrical fault in a store room this may have been why but l would have expected a battery backup on the fire alarm. the staff did do their best after to help everyone and also feed people in reception." (1134718)

Good hotel central or easy to get from and venues visiting

Not sure the fire alarms / procedures up to standard

The good clean accomodation and friendly staff did not disappoint and we will stay there again." (1677106)

Good value for money, convenient to tube station, friendly staff, sociable bar, some customers regulars.
