Alloggi Agli Artisti, Venice - Reviews & Ratings"Adequate for an overnight stay but no more." (97954079)
Room safe inadequate. Scuff marks to room walls. No lift. Details state 24 hour check-in but this means luggage drop-off only.

Alloggi Agli Artisti, Venice - Reviews & Ratings"Great location, large room and clean! Comfortable bed. No lift - which could be an issue if you are carrying a lot of heavy luggage and have a room at the top of the hotel! Advantage point is that eating out is cheaper in this area (well cheaper for Venice!)and you are not far from the traghetto station. Breakfast was very basic - but this was a 2* hotel so we weren't expecting much." (97422568)
Great location - very near to train station. Large room and clean.
Breakfast room was too small to accomodate all the guests comfortably and breakfast on one occasion was poor -0 burnt croissants!

Location is a short walk from the bus dropoff at the northern end of Venice. It really pays to lodge within the city of Venice rather than outside. This hotel is also close to an ACTV water bus station if you're too lazy to walk the city. The room had its own air conditioner and private bathroom. Staff was friendly. Free breakfast was also really nice. Bathroom was clean and linens were fresh. Pillows were also much better than most European hotels I've stayed in. They didn't charge a fee for storing our luggage for a few hours after we checked out.
The room had a slight funk to it.. like old smoke. The air conditioning unit control panel was unresponsive on the first day, and the A/C was barely adequate for the size of the room. The shower leaked water all over the floor every time we used it. Water temperature would vacillate from way too hot to cold during a shower. Wifi access fees were ridiculous at 5 euro per hour or 15 euro per 10 hours. There was a bidet in our bathroom.. some may consider this a plus, but I found it slightly disgusting. Maybe it's just because I'm American and bidets aren't commonly used here.
