very pleasant person at reception, large room, near the train station, low cost
the room smelled moldy, the pillow was too hard and thick, the neighborhood was unpleasant

The hotel is perhaps the dingiest one I have ever stayed in. My main bad point is that I was provided with an insecure room (unable to lock it). I cancelled my second night's stay.

City Inn, Berlin - Reviews & Ratings"Pleasant, comfortable." (99697162)
A friendly manager, good location of the hotel, clean and quiet, roomy.
Confusion with the assigned rooms, no 24 hour check-in, no staff present when I wanted to check out.

City Inn, Berlin - Reviews & Ratings"The location is very good, being a 5 minute walk from the S-Bahn station and a supermarket and bakery on the corner. The entrance is difficult to find, down the side, between and chemist and corner shop. Be aware that the owner only takes cash no cards!" (97132457)
Convenient location, spaceous, close to S-Bahn and friendly manager
The floor was sticky and needed a thorough clean. Towels too small to dry you properly.

"The hotel's inner city location above some busy shops meant that I missed the entrance the first time round. The communal entrance to the building in which the hotel is found was not something I necessarily expected from the information given online, and almost gives the impression of staying in private accommodation rather than a hotel. Once checked in, however, and shown to my room my stay was pleasantly undisturbed, noise from the street wasn't excessive, keys to the entrance of the building in which the hotel is housed meant I could come and go as I pleased. Good location for my needs in Berlin." (108469476)
Being upgraded to a twin room with en suit bathroom definitely made my stay more comfortable.
When I was there the hot water did not appear to be working well.
