Near the racecourse which is where my conference was. Had a key which meant I was independent. Comfortable bed, shower worked, water was hot, good selection of tea etc in the room, well cooked & presented breakfast. I was allowed to store my case on the last day whichmeant I didn't have to lug it around the conference site.

This hotel was much better than the other hotels which were part of a chain. The facilities were good and the rooms were clean and well serviced. The owners and staff couldn't have been more helpfull and I would return and recommend this hotel to others. Also in the breakfast room all the other guests interacted with us and each other and the staff, which made us feel at home.

GOOD FAMILY RUN HOTEL, GOOD FULL ENGLISH BRECKFAST ,NICE CLEAN ROOM ADEQUATE FACILATYS FOR MAKING TEA OR COFFEE IN THE ROOM WICH WAS REPLENISHED EACH DAY,STAFF WERE VERY HELPFULL IN POINTING OUT WICH BUS ROUTES TOOK YOU INTO TOWN AND WERE TO CACH THEM.
THE ONLY BAD POINT WAS I FOUND THE TOWELS A LITTLE HARD COULD HAVE DONE WITH SOME SOFFNER IN THEM WHEN WASHED.

Bagno poco accogliente, senza finestra, illuminazione scarsa. Il personale visto consiste in un ragazzotto che ci ha accolto scalzo! Un grosso gatto rosso passeggia per l'hotel con l'aria di sentirsi il padrone di casa.

St George's, York - Reviews & Ratings"My partner and I had a wonderful stay at St. Georges after walking to the hotel from Boston Spa - it took us a few hours and we were both very weary when we arrived - so to be greeted by such friendly staff and a fantastic room was great. Cannot fault St Georges! We had a lovely relaxing stay. The room was a good size, clean bright & sunny. The breakfast supurb, plenty of choice and the cooked was yummy! Really friendly owners. All good!

Good breakfast; obliging over choice and eventual changing of rooms (see below). Easy on-street parking.
The house is an Edwardian semi. The next-door neighbour could be heard playing the piano in the small hours. Bed too firm for some tastes.

The staff were very friendly and made you feel at home. The full English breakfast was superb. Our room was very cosy and well decorated. We were only a 10 minute walk from York and we were able to leave the car in a secure car park for the weekend. Would defentily recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Hotel felt friendly and welcoming in a quiet road, perfect to relax after a day of sightseeing and walking.
Only negative was access to electric sockets in the room, difficult to plug in hairdryer etc, small issue in an otherwise excellent stay.

it was very peaceful the food was lovely very clean the only thing tho was the room was cold and had to have a heater but think it was the way the wind was blowing should be ok in summer other wise we would use them again, the owners where very lovely young couple and so polite .

Quality of food and menu offered for breakfast was first class
The room could have been a bit warmer as the radiator did not seem to working to full temperature. I would also state that it was quite windy during our stay and the fire exit in the room had a louvre top section which did let in a draught.

clean friendly and warm environment our room and that of our friends were actually family rooms therefore nice and big.Breakfast was spot on as was the service. Hotel is in a nice quiet street roughly 10 mins walk from the city wall an easy walk. Overall really good would def stay there again and would recommend
