The hot breakfast and the woman who prepared it were nice and much appreciated. The shower and bathroom facilities were roomy and effective.
The tiny bedroom was too cramped to accommodate two adults who wished to move about occasionally.

Oakwood Bed and Breakfast, London - Reviews & Ratings"Very, very poor. Facility is totally unacceptable to operate as a B7B. It presents significant health and safety issues. I have made referral to the local trading standards office to review this matter. Also I am disputing the credit card charge." (107334901)
Reservation process was pleasant and prompt.
Website is a misreprentation of the actual facility. Photos show a clean, pleasant appearing B&B. In fact the actual B&B is far and away from that. Additonally I was tole that this B5B was two miles from the airport at Heathrow, my main reason for booking this B7B. In fact, it turns out that it is more likely 6-8 miles away. My room was no bigger than a walk in closet. A wallpaper border was falling off the wall. There appeared to be mold in the bathroom in the grout of the tiles and around the edges of the floor. Bathroom consisted of a small shower and a toilet. Sink was in the main room. Th carpeting was threadbare in spots and appeared to be very dirty. The only positive thing I could say was that the bed appeared to be clean and freshly made up. The room had a very bad smell such as a cleaning product used to cover up another bad smell. The room was on the first floor next to the back door (n0. 9). Upon exiting the room, the back door was wide open to a trashy back space. No staff was to be found in the facility at that time. This presents a health and safety issue to me. The door open like that and no one monitoring it will allow anyone and/or anything to enter the B&B. Thinking to sit in the dining room awwaiting to talk to staff I pulled out a chair to sit on. The upholtsery on the chair was thin, dirty and badly stained. At this point I decided I could not stay there and left. The owner/operator never was present during the time I was there and staff member there seemed to be in and out.

Oakwood Bed and Breakfast, London - Reviews & Ratings"Ms Patricia is a very nice lady and very helpful! I am really sorry that my husband was fussy after a long flight from Falkland! Actaully the RAF service was very poor and made him in a very low grumpy mood.I like the hotel atmosphere and easy access to Heathrow airport. There is a chinese take away just by the next door and one fish n chips not far away. And it's very convenient for the travellers as the TSB Lloyds Bank is just over the bus stop.By the way, the taxi is excellent and cheap of course! Will come again!" (108495369)

Oakwood Bed and Breakfast, London - Reviews & Ratings"This was Fawlty Towers!" (107329944)
The matress on the bed was very good.
(1) The website for this B&B states that special diets are catered for. We were asked to bring a loaf of gluten free bread from Australia, because she couldn't possibly get bread. She provided no breakfast for the gluten free person. The gluten free person ended up making her own toast for breakfast. There was a supermarket 5 minutes down the road that had a huge variety of gluten free bread. (2) A package for us was delivered to the hotel, and we were charged an extra 10 pounds to have it put in the room. (3) The B&B is a very 'tired' 1970's establishment.

The room was very clean & the Mangeress was very friendly & helpful
I was a tad pissed off, as I was looking forward to a good cooked breakfast before I departed for a long flight home. The chef didn't show, which really let me down !

Good value for money. Friendly staff.
No staff on site overnight - if anything was needed out of hours there was a mobile number to get hold of someone.

Oakwood Bed and Breakfast, London - Reviews & Ratings"Excellent!" (107578616)
Very communicative correspondence directly with property owner, with lots of information given before arrival about directions and restaurants in the area, were very much appreciated. The owner and staff were extremely friendly; the breakfast was terrific; and everything combined to more than make up for the modest accommodation, which was perfectly expected given the price point. I even got my reserved room "upgraded" from a basic single room to one with an en suite bathroom!! Kudos, I will definitely stay there again.

Oakwood Bed and Breakfast, London - Reviews & Ratings"It is a friendly, down to earth hotel with nice staff. Considering how close to Heathrow it is, it represents good value." (97267421)
The location is very good...pub, restaurants and shops.
The only item I did not like was the shower or rather, the very light spray. To be fair to the hotel, I did not contact them to complain so it may be that it was not their fault
