"Overpriced. I feel £60 would have been a fair price for the room we stayed in." (108445201)

Clean bedding, Friendly staff, breakfast in fridge in room.

Broken plug socket, broken spout on kettle, shabby decor and furnishings,

"Shame about the parking, would be excellent for those travelling by train. Parking might be easier at the weekend, when one side of the road isn't controlled." (107315726)

Friendly and helpful staff. Generous breakfast every day, which was left in the fridge so no getting up at a set time!

Parking... Leave the car on one of the near by streets and move it to avoid traffic wardens. On arrival couldn't find a nearby space for unloading the car. Where I did find a space the hotel couldn't supply a parking voucher for, so had to be out early next day to avoid traffic wardens. The next space was only good for one day, but found a space by arriving back just at the end of the controlled period.

"The room was adequate for an overnight stay." (107367199)

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the fridge well stocked.

TV was broken and shower leaked from the pipe and plug sockets looked a bit unsafe. Also, the room was very noisy until the early hours. Not suitable for young children really.

Lovely, quaint and cosy atmosphere - just a lovely London B&B pub. Very private and large rooms for London standards and a very reasonable price for London accom also. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.

"A very enjoyable stay made welcome by the English pub atmosphere. " (107664760)

Excellent accommodation. Reasonably close to town centre & transport. Staff very helpful and cheerful, pub meals were excellent. Not overly noisy as would be expected of pub type accommodation. Great English pub.

A large guest may find the shower cubicle a bit on the small side.

Good food in the pub and nice staff.

You could hear the pub loudly each night, and also the noice from the road outside. It felt like you had all windows open at all time. The desk, which I hoped to use, couldnät be used, because of a large TV and fridge in the way - and no chair, so it was no good for business travelers.

"We really enjoiyed our one nights B & B. The room was nicely furnished and very comfortable and our continental breakfast was good which was ready for us in a mini fridge We thought this was a really good idea as we didn't have to be up at any certain time and could have our breakfast in our room. We had a TV which had excellent reception and tea and coffee making facilities including biscuits. The pub is on a fairly busy main road and our room was double glazed which helped to reduce the traffic noise." (97326046)

The size of the room was good and not cramped. The en-suite bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was excellent. The bed linen was crisp and clean.

The room was lovely. A super-king bed was an unexpected pleasure. Free use of the internet meant my stay could also be productive.

Unfortunately the night I chose to stay was Quiz night, which meant that there was a gentleman talking on a microphone until about 11. After this time, however, I didn't notice any of the noise from the pub.

"Generally we enjoyed our stay, the staff greeted us warmly when we checked in and took our luggage up to our room. We travelled up by train and the hotel was only 3 minutes walk away, which was very convenient. The only disappointment was that the kitchen was closed alll weekend, so we had to go into the town centre for our evening meals." (3304472622)

Very convenient for the train station and the town centre. The room was large and very clean. The continental breakfast was in a fridge in the wardrobe, and was re stocked daily, this was a nice touch as it gave us freedom to get up and eat when we wanted.

The shower was a little on the small side and when ylou turned it on the force of the shower made the head turn to the door, making it difficult to get in and out, also made the floor very wet indeed. A remote control for the T V would have been usefull, also by putting the T V on a wall mounted stand would have made it easier to watch.

The room was very clean and pretty, plenty of tea and coffee provided

Having come from New Zealand I did not know how to work the shower, the system of having to pull a cord from the ceiling before turning the shower on was unknown to me, so I missed out on a shower the first day first day, also it was a bit noisy early morning with the beer tanks being changed about 6.30 am

"Pub accommodation was as described on the website. The location is an easy walk to Richmond town centre and the triple room that we stayed in was good value for money. The accommmodation is not luxury but it is clean and comfortable and safe. The staff are very good and the pub has a pleasant, local, atmosphere." (3304623783)

Good location. Friendly staff. Room was kept very clean.

Outside traffic noise was intrusive at times. Shower was cosy to say the least.

"The credit card was charged on arrival - this made the extras liable seperately which is inconvenient. Better to take a copy of the card. The beer was excellent and the pub was lively and friendly. Smoking was not a major problem, and the location close to Richmond centre is just right." (3304194894)

Friendly atmosphere - no fuss - good beer

Up front payment policy should be announced.

"All in all, a very good first time experience staying in London above a pub. Friendly staff and pub patrons made for a memorable visit. Very nice neighborhood and a very diverse assortment of shops and restaurants. Rich local history. Easy access to London in spite of the underground shut down for engineering work. To sum it up: Exactly the experience we were hoping for our first time in London." (3304421549)

Location. Even though smoking was allowed in the pub below, there was no trace of it upstairs in the room. Liked the historical aspect. Room small but comfortable. Friendly Pub.

Would be nice to have available pamphlets about local attractions, history. Staff communications could be better: When we returned home found a message on our answering machine asking where we were. Message sent to our home in the U.S. six hours after we checked in. Would be nice to have information about the train/underground/busses for the uninformed foreigners in view of the shutting down the underground for engineering work.

"Centrally located for Richmond, ten minute walk from tube/train to central London. Remarkably quiet for being above a pub. Some noise during the evening, but great night's sleep without disturbance. Around 7.45am the bottles were emptied. No complaints about the continental breakfast. Recommended." (3304041288)

"Great place to stay in Richmond. I think it was good value for money, the room was great and the bed huge and comfortable. The staff were friendly and there was plenty for breakfast. The only negative point was that there was no food on Friday and Saturday night which meant we had to wander around Richmond trying to find somewhere after a log journey when all we wanted to do is have a drink and a 'pub meal'." (2703872)

Great room, suprisingly quiet at night

There was no food available on Friday or Saturday night

"A picture of the room to view before would have been good, what was included eg the breakfast. I had asked for a bottle of champagne on our arrival which no one said anything about or had organised. On arrival I went into the bar to ask about parking, informed that we had booked a room for the night. We went out and parked, when came back in with our bags, we stood at the bar for 10 mins before he spoke to us, serving 'regular' customers drink that had arrived at the bar after we had been standing there." (2741659)

No time we had to be back by.

Parking, the staff were very unhelpful and quite rude, the door handle was broken and fell off on arrival

"Staff were friendly but because of the high price and description of the accommodation we expected better quality. Probably more suitable for younger people who would take advantage of bar below." (2320671)

Staff friendly. Clean towels every day. Comfortable and clean bed. Large room. Passed on messages efficiently.

Breakfast in wardrobe rather off-putting and water heater full of lime deposits. We didn't use either. No telephone in room and telephone line in hall always 'in use'. Rather noisy being above a bar.
