Very clean rooms and bathroom. Wide selection for breakfast. Friendly, helpful management and staff.
Room quite small. Although it was late June, weather was not good, so lack of heating meant room was chilly.

i was very disappointed as we booked the room with the fourposter bed and got a call on the saturday to say that it was not available, this was the main reason for booking this hotel and if we had known would have booked elsewhere, by the time we got the call it was too late to do anything about it. The room we had was very nice but very ordinary. Also little things like they had no shower gel and the soap was nonexistent which for the money we paid i would have expected better.

Attentive hosts. I noticed clearly that the hosts made an effort remembering the personal tastes of the various guests. When they noticed I had a bad cold one of the ladies made a warm honey lemon drink for me.
High temperature of the room. Strict and too tight schedule of breakfast. We travelled with a 5 months old baby. Arrived late on the first night so we slept in a little. After breast feeding my daughter and taking a shower I arrived few minutes too late for breakfast. My partner had already been downstairs with the baby telling they were waiting for me to get ready. The hosts did not inform him at that point about the breakfast times. When I arrived they simply said that the kitchen had just closed. That did not make me feel welcome, felt very impersonal and business minded. On the other hand, we had not read the welcome letter - otherwise we would have known the breakfast times. They served us a continental breakfast so the issue was solved but there was room for a more personal and warm approach.

Nice staff, good breakfast, lovely place really. Fantastically clean. Cute cats. I would definitely return.
Early checkout time (10.30am) Early breakfast (9.15am last orders for breakfast on a Sunday!!). If you come for a weekend it would be nice not to have to rush out of the place by 10.30am. Curtains need blackouts behind them. It was far too bright in the morning. Little gripes.

Service, breakfast and room were fantastic. The list of local places to eat was very useful.
Location; Hastings & local areas in general were run down and full of litter. The area looked shabby, dated and in need of a few paint jobs, especially the sea-front.

the lovely staff, the beautiful and original decor, the attention to detail, the fabulous massage treatments, too many to list!
slightly disappointed by the garden, as am an avid gardener and was quite excited having looked at pictures on the internet. its got a lot of bare soil patches in the beds and not as many herbs as i had hoped. everything else about my stay was so very wonderful however this really wasn't a big problem to be honest. i would definitely recommend this hotel and will return as soon as i can.

Clean, comfortable and reasonable value for money. Breakfast ingredients locally sourced and well cooked.
Use of energy saving bulbs throughout the hotel made reading, make up application etc hard on the eyes. The dullness of light these bulbs give makes everything look dreary, there is no sparkle.

A friendly, warm and beautifully decorated hotel. The breakfast was very good and the staff most helpful.
The shower was a little hit and miss at times.

I was there for a job interview so was anxious and nervous but they took care of all my needs and made me really welcome and everything ran so smoothly there it relieved a lot of my anxieties, so when I got the the interview, I was happy, relaxed and well fed. Really lovely decor and facilities, welcoming, helpful and friendly staff with great local knowledge, very clean and well maintained hotel, good food with lots of variety, nothing was too much trouble - even when they were busy with lots of guests at breakfast time and my taxi didn't arrive, they phoned for me without me even asking! Great attention to detail - just brilliant.
