  Breakfast was good.

  furnishings in the breakfast room and the carpets were scruffy. there was no shampoo in the room. there was supposed to be a bar open - whilst we did not want to go in the bar it did not appear to be open.

  "Quite appalling - lack of service, lack of breakfast, generally pretty rubbish." (108123560)

  Booked as bed and breakfast but unable to have cooked breakfast on second morning due to 'boss oversleeping' !! Quite unaccceptable excuse. Shower not working in Room 14. TV reported as not working on first night, repair person called whilst out on second day and left door open, luckily nothing of mine has been stolen as far as I am aware.

  "On the whole a fair stay, did not spend much time in the room, but would expect the bathroom to be much better, especially the shower. Hotel was very clean and tidy. The hotel seemed short staffed perhaps." (107557792)

  Good Parking. Good bed. Good selection of tea/coffee and biscuits in room.

  Very low pressure in shower. Very loose floor boarding. When needed a drink from the bar, the member of staff was busy making beds. Overall the bathroom could be better for £45 per night.

  "Glad to get home, which was a shame, as St Albans is a lovely place to visit. " (108263951)

  This hotel was run by one man and his dog, we were unable to book in when we arrived,so we had to come back at a later time.It looked like this one man coverd all ie:reception cook and god knows what.Shower kept going cold, overhead bed light did not work and a blaizing row outside our room at 5am in the morning, did not go down very well. At check in we were told to pack our bags for the Saturday and take them with us, as there was new furniture being put in all rooms. But when we returned Saturday evening no new furniture at all. We packed our bags for nothing. Sunday morning breakfast for us both, consisted of a cold plate of cooked breakfast for one, left on a table in dining room. Kitchen was all locked up and no one to be seen. Even an Australian family staying there said it was like Faulty Towers and they wern't far wrong.
