Excellent food, friendly and proffesional staff, lovely atmosphere in beautiful surroundings.
Room was cold on several occasions, hampering our complete enjoyment.

Quiet (despite proximity of A55), easily accessible, rural location, friendly staff. Good value for money compared with other hotels. Breakfast served from 7 am - always a plus point for business travellers.
Check in is at the bar, so as I arrived late evening there was a slight delay whilst the staff served drinks. Despite quiet location, extractor fans from the kitchen run quite late. However, I am particularly sensitive to noise!

The Glan Yr Afon Inn, Holywell - Reviews & Ratings"I was nearly put off staying here by some other reviews I had read, but when a four star country house hotel I tried to book was full, I decided to give it a go. I am very pleased I did. This is an excellent inn, well run, with good food and real ales, friendly and efficient staff, good comfortable rooms and excellent value for money. It depends what you are looking for - I thought this inn had everything. It is obviously popular locally, which is a good sign. And having to go through the bar to the rooms is hardly worth criticising it for. But watch out for the low ceilings! Ignore the reference on one website to no parking - there is a large car park." Clean and comfortable room, well equipped in a characterful inn. Good shower and facilities.

Service and food was very good indeed - plenty of choice and good portions. Standard of accommodation was verry good if a little small. A friendly village-style local pub while having the qualities of a much bigger place.
Some disco noise on Saturday evening but otherwise OK. On-line directions were not very clear.

nearly everything - clean, comfortable with good bathroom. nicely decorated. Slept really well. Location very attractive.
no wastepaper bin in room and a slightly awkward walk up to the room, early morning call never came but as we were awake, no problem

The Glan Yr Afon Inn, Holywell - Reviews & Ratings"I thought they made us feel very welcome with our dog she was made to feel like a guest rather than having to shut her in our room she was welcomed inot the public house and was able to sit with us whilst we enjoyed a drink. All the staff paid us attention and welcomed us into ther hotel it was a very enjoyable stay and we would syat there again in the future" (97629447)
They were very polite and helpful towards us accomodating our dog they made us feel very welcome

staff were fantastic, food was excellent and the quantities were gigantic. The rooms are lovely and the management freindly and attentitive.

Certainly not the anonymous motel type accommodation.
Staff too busy in the bar to take much more than a passing interest in our arrival (although I guess it was Sunday lunchtime).

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere, really good food, nothing to much trouble for the staff. Room & en-suite clean and tidy, made up each day with towels changed daily.
