    Quiet Location

The hotel lacks attention to detail regaring maintainence. Bathroom fittings broken with a little attention could be repaired. All around the hotel are signs of lack of care. Bits of woodwork missing, carpets poorly fitted and dirty. Exterior lawns not cared for well.

The grounds & settings of the hotel.

The very poor decor of our room, wallpaper hanging off & very stained ceiling. Very poor communication with staff- Language barrier, and a feeling of poor organization

"I would like to have know if there was any entertainment on in the hotel." (97300181)

I liked the hotel very much. It was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly but none of them seems in my opinion to have any training in the hotel business.

There was no hotel booklet letting you know what the hotel facilities were.

"There is a lack of attention to details for such a highly regarded hotel. Only one breakfast arrived with no bread, trouser press was broken, stains on the carpet & curtains etc. Rang four times to arrange a babys cot for the room, I finally received a return phone call after our stay. We even had to ask twice at reception for the cot which when delivered was not assembled and also damaged. On saying this we still quite enjoyed the stay." (99281702)

    The staff where very friendly

    Eveything was broken

"We have stayed in many hotels but found this hotel to be lacking in good service. It is the small things that count that make a stay enjoyable. The pool and changing rooms in particular where seriously in need of a clean." (99023524)

    room was clean and quiet

the piped music in the hotel was dreadful. It was always the same and several times we asked for a different CD to be played but were told it was impossible to alter.I suggest somebody from management looks into this. Also the lights in reception were turned off while we were reading and were only switched on again when we asked.

Was was clean and had all necessary essentials - trouser press and iron are essential for business travel. Only bug bear was very hard and uncomfatble bed and terrible pillows! Both were much too hard." (99724362)

location, leisure facilities (swimming etc) attractive hotel

The Bed and pillows. Bed was rock hard; pillows were hard and uncomftable! Found it difficult to get to sleep!

"The hotel is located in extensive parklands on the outskirts of Castlebar - about 3 kms from the town. It is well signposted and as a result is easy to find. The staff are courteous, friendly and above all polite. Smoking and non smoking bedrooms are available." (99446765)

    Well appointed room

    Heating was set too hot

"Huge disappointment on arrival at 9.35pm, having driven for four hours to get to the hotel, to be told that the restaurant was closed, that there was no bar-food menu and that there was no room-service hot food menu. The only food on offer was a cold room-service sandwich." (99203376)

Impressive hotel grounds and a welcoming reception area.

Bedroom very cold on arrival with window having been left open and no heating available for a further 20 mins as it was on a time-switch.

"I had hoped to be able to touch up make up and hair on arrival at the hotle for the wedding. I travelled from Cork, leaving at 7am and when I arrived my room wasn't ready. That's no problem, but perhaps a room downstairs for such a purpose could be useful, with sockets for hair straighteners and the like. There were none in the leisure centre where I was directed to go. Other than that, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are large and clean. I would definitely recommend this leisure, house hotel." (3305252810)

The room was huge, the bathroom clean, nice view of front garden. The facilities were excellent and it was convenient for the wedding.

A long wait at the check in desk.

"I wish that I would have had more time to appreciate the leisure facilities at the hotel." (3304765634)

Have stayed there before when it was a Best Western Hotel. I looked forward to my stay. Much improved restaurant and bar.

No real concerns apart from the fact that the internet provider had booked me in for the wrong night ie 31st May. I nearly did not get the opportunity to stay. The receptionist was most helpfull and found me a room albeit after allocating me one that was being repaired.

"I found the overall experience very plesent. i have not often stayed in hotels so was not sure what to expect, I did think though that it was odd that breakfast was not included in the price. The food though, was excellent!!! The outside of the hotel also is spectacular, even better than in the pictures. I would recommend the hotel to people." (2773855)

the bedroom had a beautiful table and chairs and also 2 seater couch and 2 arm chairs, really homely, but far better than home!!!

the bathroom was a bit dissapointing, considering the room itself was so nice. We also found the plastic sheets on the bed rather hard to get used to, but in saying that they are hygenic.
