staff friendly and helpful
breakfast in room was very poor milk for cereal put in tumbler, soup spoons for the cereal, toast soggy and like bread. Bacon stuck to plate eggs hard all in all a disappointing breakfast !!

Brasserie food generally very nice but some dishes overpriced We were told we would have to pay £20 for our small dog as the information that was e mailed through showed the price for our overall stay we assumed the £20 was the overall price for the dog although we were actually asked to pay £20 per night. Feel this is a bit excessive and not clear at the booking stage. Think at weekends children should be able to access the pool from 8am

Excellent rooms and comfortable accomodation, perfect for an overnight stay when en route. Friendly and welcoming staff add to the experience. The hotel's location off any major road and within a magnificent golf course setting ensures peace and quiet and a good night's sleep for those traveling.
Our only criticism was the cost of meals in the brasserie. £24.50 for a lamb main course to which side courses must be added is unreasonable. If we stay at the Carden in future it would be cheaper to eat in Chester before checking in. It takes the edge of an otherwise excellent hotel.

The grounds, the pillows and the speed the bath filled. The sevice staff were good.
The corridor smelt of sewage. The room and hotel was a bit shabby in finish on the inside. To get to me room I had to go upstairs and the back down again even though I was on the ground floor. Not very customer friendly. The food was of a poor standard.

The setting is magnificentand the hotel is very comfortable.
Nothing really stands our. A couple of lights in the room were not working, but no big deal!!! We attended a charity ball on the Friday night. Food was delicious but service a bit slow we felt.

De Vere Carden Park Hotel Golf Resort Spa, Broxton - Reviews & Ratings"We went to Carden Park as a group of 8 girls celebrating a 40th. Everything was to our liking and we were most impressed. The only thing a little disappointing was the Spa. We all had various treatments and three of us were not too happy and have experienced far better. I complained as my nails looked like my four year old had done them, at first I was told by the Spa staff to pay and somebody would call me!! I took this to the hotel Manager who was fantastic and refunded me straight away. Four of us purchased deluxe pedicures. Three of us had our feet put in warm gloves and bags but one of us had none of that at all!! Unfortunately she isn't the complaining type! Another friend was not impressed with her indian head massage." (99361274)
The rooms were very tastefully decorated, all having been recently refurbished. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and lunch at the Brasserie was amazing.

Next time we will definately request a room within the hotel. The food was fantastic and the breakfast service in the Garden Restaurant was very friendly. We did not feel that the welcome on arrival was very warm or polite, which was very disappointing as first impressions always last. On check out the service was friendly and polite. The ground are absolutely amazing and the facilities are fantastic. We didn't take any golf accessories, but were allowed to borrow some clubs for the driving range. We had a lovely walk around the golf course on Sunday morning where paths are clearly marked.
I have stayed at Carden park previously, and always stayed in the hotel part. This time we stayed in the accomodation separate to the hotel. Although this was very pleasant, I don't feel the hotel takes the same care and attention to details as it does with the rooms in the main hotel. We still enjoyed our stay, but I feel the outside accomodation needs some serious cleaning attention.

Firstly we asked for a quiet room and we were placed in the courtyard block which was very private so i didn't have to worry if she was noisy as there was noone to disturb. Secondly we could take her swimming as there was a small family changing facility and the spa was literally opposite our room. Thirdly the brasserie staff were very accommadoting and the food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality, the same applies to the breakfast. This hotel was an ideal base to visit the zoo and the aquarium aswell as Chester itself, car journeys less than 30 minutes. The first room we were given had a broken bed but we were moved immediately and with NO fuss when we reported it to the front desk. Overall we had a very relaxing stay and for any new mums/families this is a great hotel as i was able to leave husband and baby whilst i had some well deserved me time in the spa." (3304910325)
Clean rooms with plenty of space for the travel cot. First room had an uncomfortable bed but we were moved immediately and without fuss when we informed the front desk.
Nothing once we had moved.

The facilities were exceptional and the only problem for us was that we weren't staying long enough to enjoy them fully. Next time we will definately stay longer. Peaceful surroundings. Staff very helpful and polite.The room was very tastefully decorated. Highest standards of cleanliness.
In room refreshments could be improved. Shower was very powerful which we like but was not adjustable.The television only had limited stations. Free view would have helped or additional channels on Sky which you do not have to pay extra for. The fridge in the room was a little noisy so we had to switch it off.

The accomodation is either in the main building or a series of two storey blocks of about 6 rooms, each room has it's own balcony and was very private. The rooms were spectacular and very comfortable with every convenience necessary. The hotel facilities were very good and not overcrowded. Hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful and made us feel very welcome even though we are a mixed race couple (something not all hotels can achieve). Breakfast was in the Garden Restaurant and although busy we only had a five minute wait for a table and then the choice available at the buffet was excellent. Overall this was an excellent experience and one we would recommend to our friends." (3304768895)

The room was a good size, clean and bright.
The toiletries were not very impressive, no dressing gowns or slippers for a four star hotel this is poor. few tea and coffees in room only one tiny packet of biscuites. these type of things could be looked at.

Some of the staff (particuarly the concierge and the Brasserie manager) were extremely helpful and friendly. Others could have tried a bit harder. Room overall was very comfortable with great views. We experienced meals in both restaurants and both quality and quantity were very good. On initial check in we were allocated a room overlooking a building site (despite being assured at check in that this was not the case). Having complained I am pleased to say that the reception staff responded quickly and efficiently and we were allocated a very good room overlooking the golf course. Golf course (Nicklaus course)was excellent and very friendly club house staff
Room decor was a little 'tired' for a 4 star hotel with frayed carpets.

I had - in room 220 - a very soft uncomfortable bed, however the views were to die for!!

very spacious accomodation, excellant decor with attention to detail the huge bed was great.
the only area i can think of is umbrellas in the garden lodges because you have a short distance to the hotel thats through a courtyard.

The high quality of the service which was carried out in a discrete manner. We were accompanied by our son, his wife and their 2year old son. The staff made all the Party feel extremely welcome.
